Last year’s Money in the Bank PLE also took place in London

WrestleMania is one of the biggest annual professional wrestling events in the world. WWE has hosted a total of 40 WrestleManias so far, making it the longest-running annual event in the sports entertainment industry. WWE recently hosted WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it was one of the greatest WrestleManias of all time. As this year’s big event is finally over and we are on the fallout events, there has been a number of rumors and speculations about next year’s Mania.

WWE will usually announce the next year’s WrestleMania a year prior to set the hype, however there isn’t any official information about the event or the venues. There are a number of rumors about the potential venue and the talks suggest that it would be either Las Vegas or Minnesota. However, recent social media activities suggest that the biggest event could move to international venues.

WrestleMania 41 in London

London Mayor, Sadiq Khan on X, wrote that although London is already being a sports capital, if he gets re-elected as the Mayor for the third time this Thursday, he would bring WrestleMania, Super Bowl, NBA and Olympics 2040 to London.

Sadiq Khan wrote,

“London is already the sporting capital of the world.  If I’m re-elected next Thursday – we’ll go even further. We’ll look to bring WrestleMania, Super Bowl and the NBA to London, and put together another bid for the 2040 Olympics.”

To which WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque responded by re-tweeting Khan’s tweet saying, “Let’s talk”.

This kick started the speculation that WWE is interested in moving the biggest professional wrestling event to the UK for next year. However there isn’t any official announcement yet. Previously during the Money in the Bank 2023, John Cena teased of hosting WrestleMania in London, and got a positive response from the WWE Universe there.

WWE has already hosted regular yearly events in the UK and has also scheduled one for this year. On June 15, 2024, the company will host Clash at the Castle PLE in Glasgow, Scotland. It is also important to note that the company has recently toured the UK for a number of house shows immediately following this year’s Mania.

Will London be the potential venue to host WrestleMania 41 pay-per-view? Comment your thoughts.
