Update on Conor McGregor's comments about Roman Reigns' UFC Freedom 250 appearance

Conor McGregor responded to Roman Reigns’ appearance during UFC Freedom 250.
The first professional sporting event ever held at the White House took place on June 14, on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. The card featured seven total fights, with two title bouts in the main and co-main events.
The historic event featured several high-profile appearances, including stars from WWE, UFC’s sister company. World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and WWE CCO Triple H were among the notable figures representing WWE.
Reacting to a tweet made by the TKO Group’s X handle, McGregor, in a since-deleted response, tweeted out, “Who?” The first-ever UFC Double Champion, in a later conversation with a fan, followed up on the tweet:
“I don’t know. They [UFC] should’ve platformed our own combatants. Put them next to these guys. Put our guys next to these guys, what, so who the fuck are you? What’s up? Let it be seen by the public, and then we’d have something to look forward to on our side. Bouts to look forward to, guys to look forward to. Remember, these guys crashed here and there. It builds the story,” he said
A new report from Fightful Select has now provided an update on Conor’s comments. According to the report from Fightful, sources within TKO stated that Conor McGregor is fully aware of Roman Reigns’ identity and was simply promoting corporate synergy in his own way.
Reigns and Conor have engaged in a spat online back in 2016 when Conor claimed that he would “slap the head off” WWE’s entire roster, and Reigns responded with, “Your the size of my leg. Shut up.”
Conor McGregor’s recent return at UFC 329 resulted in another injury

Conor McGregor returned after five years and a horrific leg injury to take on the former featherweight Champion Max Holloway in his first trip to the octagon since 2021. The return headlined UFC 329 on July 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, McGregor’s return ended in the very first minute as Conor injured his right knee. The injury occurred in the very first sequence as Conor landed a jumping scissor kick but blew his knee out on the landing.
Holloway won the rematch via Round 1 TKO. McGregor has vowed to return, but another injury is likely to keep him out of action for a while.
On the other hand, Roman Reigns is set to defend the World Heavyweight title against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2026. The match is expected to headline Night 2 of the Summer’s Biggest Party in Minneapolis next month.
What is the latest update on Conor McGregor’s injury?
Per Dana White during the UFC Oklahoma post-fight presser, McGregor will undergo knee surgery followed by a period of physical therapy. White added that McGregor will be able to resume training once he receives medical clearance from his doctors.
When and where will SummerSlam 2026 take place?
The 39th edition will air as a two-night spectacle on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
