Major update on The Rock's involvement at WWE WrestleMania 43

The Rock has been speculated to return at WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
WWE is already looking ahead to WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia in April 2027, but one of its biggest potential attractions may not be part of the company’s plans. A new report has provided an update on The Rock’s expected involvement.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE creative is currently operating under the assumption that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will not be available for substantial storyline participation at WrestleMania 43.
That does not necessarily mean The Rock is completely ruled out. A source reportedly noted that plans involving Johnson can “change in an instant,” leaving the door open for WWE to alter its creative direction if his availability changes.
For now, however, WWE is moving forward without building its WrestleMania 43 plans around The Great One. His potential involvement remains uncertain as the company prepares for a historic event.

WrestleMania 43 is expected to mark the first time WWE takes its flagship event outside North America, with Saudi Arabia set to host the show. WWE has yet to announce the date or dates, although the event is expected to remain a two-night spectacle.
The Rock’s availability has been a talking point for some time. Last month, reports suggested Saudi Arabia wanted Johnson to wrestle at WrestleMania 43, but Dave Meltzer reported that his filming commitments for the latest Fast & Furious movie could make an in-ring appearance difficult.
Johnson has not appeared for WWE since March 2025, when he was involved in the aftermath of John Cena’s heel turn against Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber.
His most recent WWE match came at WrestleMania 40, where he teamed with Roman Reigns against Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Since then, his WWE presence has largely centered around his storyline involving Rhodes and Cena, though that program is now over.
For the time being, WWE appears to be planning WrestleMania 43 without The Rock playing a major role. However, given the reported possibility that plans can “change in an instant,” his status could still develop considerably before the event.
