The first co-branded Worlds Collide PLE emanated from the Kia Forum!
WWE, along with its Mexican sister promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), delivered the first co-branded edition of Worlds Collide, which aired live on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The show aired on the same day as MITB 2025 at a special start time.
This was the fourth edition under the WWE banner and the first since WWE’s acquisition of AAA in April. The PLE feature stars from WWE‘s Raw, SmackDown, and NXT brands, along with stars from AAA.
It was the first Worlds Collide event held since 2022 and was streamed live on WWE’s YouTube channel in English and Spanish.
While many fans thought that WWE CCO, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, would be in charge of the first show, especially given his high-level role in WWE creative, displaying amazing talents from Mexico, Levesque was busy in preparation for the 2025 edition of Money in the Bank.
PWInsider reveals that Jeremy Borash was in charge of production and creative for the Worlds Collide event, not Triple H. Borash, who had previously been identified as a key player in the creative direction of AAA after WWE acquired the lucha libre promotion, is said to have overseen every aspect of the show’s presentation.
El Hijo del Vikingo successfully defended the AAA Mega title against Chad Gable
The first match of the show was a six-man tag match where Octagón Jr., Aero Star, and Mr. Iguana defeated Latino World Order (Dragon Lee and Cruz Del Toro) and Lince Dorado, while the team of Stephanie Vaquer and Lola Vice defeated Chik Tormenta and Dalys in the second match.
Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Angel & Berto) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown to showcase their dominance as promised. Furthermore, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page successfully defended the title in a fatal four-way match against Je’Von Evans, Laredo Kid, and Rey Fénix.
AAA Mega Champion, El Hijo del Vikingo, defended the title in the main event against American Made’s Chad Gable. Vikingo was able to pin Gable, successfully defending the title which he recently won.
