Rey Mysterio is one of the greatest professional wrestlers and the biggest luchadors in the industry. Mysterio has been in wrestling since the age of 14 and has been winning the hearts of millions of wrestling fans for the past three and a half decades.

He represents the tradition of Mexican Lucha Libre style of wrestling and is considered as ‘The Ultimate Luchador’. Rey is always spotted with the Lucha Libre mask both on and off the screen. However, Rey shared his unmasked picture of himself and shocked the WWE Universe.

Rey Mysterio post unmasked selfie

Rey Mysterio officially posted his first picture without the mask on his Instagram. Rey shared an adventurous picture clicking a selfie with his wife (Angie Gutierrez) and daughter (Aalyah Gutierrez) while spending their time together in a swimming pool.

It is quite rare to see Rey Mysterio without a mask, however Rey has posed for fans without a mask earlier this year on a number of occasions. However, this is the first time Rey himself is posting his own unmasked picture on a social media platform.

Rey Mysterio on sharing unmasked pictures

Earlier this year, when Rey Mysterio’s first picture without a mask went viral on the internet, he addressed that in an interview saying that he doesn’t mind posing for a picture without a mask as it is a new era.

Rey Mysterio during an interview with The Wrestling Classic earlier this year said,

“It’s something that I really don’t mind. A lot of fans recognize me, it’s kind of like a new era of wrestling. For a while, I did wrestle without my mask [In WCW] and a lot of fans know me because of that. But overall, I always try to give the fans the time and respect if getting asked for a picture, or being recognized. To take the time to be able to take a picture with them.“

“Some actually ask me, ‘is it okay if I post it?’. I always give them the okay. Do whatever you want. That’s your picture now. If I took a picture with you.it’s because it’s okay. But I respect the fact and I appreciate they ask me if it’s okay if they can post.”
