What to expect from WWE's move to Netflix in India?

WWE will have a new home in India from April 1!
A new era is dawning for WWE in one of its major markets, India as following in the footsteps the Stamford-based promotion will transition its weekly programs and PLEs exclusively to stream on Netflix in India starting from April 01. This transition will mark an end to a long-term broadcasting partnership of the Stamford-based promotion with Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI).
The promotion has been hyping up fans for the transition and is now preparing for the shift as content and programs have slowly started appearing on Netflix India, with labels indicating they will be available from April 1.
The first WWE weekly show to air first of Netflix India after the transition will be Tuesday Night NXT, which also means the last to air on SPNI will be the 03/31 episode of Monday Night Raw which is set to air from the O2 Arena in London.
The April 01 episode of Tuesday Night NXT will emanate live from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida and fans in India can watch the show on April 02 from 05:30 AM IST on Netflix.
Additionally, the second show from the WWE to air on Netflix India will be the April 04 show of SmackDown followed by the April 07 of Monday Night Raw, while the 41st edition of the WrestleMania PLE will be the first Premium Live Event to stream live on Netflix following the transition.
Indian fans will now be able to access PLE, weekly shows & specially curated content on Netflix
This historic move means that in addition to the multiple countries where WWE shows are already broadcasted on Netflix, fans in India will now be able to watch every PLE and weekly show on Netflix.
Indian fans will likely receive specially curated content, vault videos, PLEs, and matches, similar to what the international audience on Netflix enjoys. Internation fans already have access to vault videos from SmackDown, RAW and NXT.
The transition will also mean more fan engagement as is a common trade with the Streaming giant. While SPNI offered some vault content along with a few specially curated content, this will likely increase with the transition on Netflix.
How excited are you to enjoy your favorite WWE shows and PLEs on Netflix? What does this historic transition mean for Indian fans? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
