The two stars will collide at WWE SummerSlam in a pole match.
The feud between Danhausen and the Judgment Day started with JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio trying to bribe Danhausen with $100,000 into cursing Oba Femi, before Dirty Domâs clash against Femi in the King of the Ring semi-finals.
While Danhausen took the money, he refused to curse Oba. Things escalated even more when Danhausen cursed Liv Morgan right before her Queen of the Ring finals against Iyo Sky, and Liv ended up losing the match.
Danhausen defeated JD McDonagh at the July 18 SNME in MSG, but was ambushed by the Judgment Day, setting up the clash against Dirty Dom for SummerSlam. The initial stipulation for the match was that the winner would keep the $100,000.
However, after another attack during the July 27 go-home show, when GM Adam Pearce went to talk some sense into Danhausen, the latter refused and suggested that the match should be a Human Monies on a Pole match.
The General Manager made the Human Monies on a Pole match official. The two will collide on Night 2 (Sunday) of SummerSlam.
Pole match Rules
In WWE, a pole match is a type of stipulation match where an object or prize is placed on top of a pole attached to one of the ring posts. The name is usually derived from the object being hung; in this case, it is the âhuman monies.â The goal is usually for a wrestler to climb the post and retrieve the item before their opponent does.
Once a competitor climbs up and retrieves the object, it becomes fully legal for them to use. However, the match doesnât usually end when the item is retrieved. The match typically ends via standard pinfall or submission.
The concept became mainstream on television during the late 1990s and 2000s by writer Vince Russo in WCW and WWE
While WWE used the match type in the early 2000s, the match type has rarely been utilized in recent decades. Notably, this will be the first pole match in WWE under the TKO era.
When did the last Pole match take place in WWE?
The last pole match in WWE took place in 2017 when Elias defeated Jason Jordan on the November 6, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Notably, 2017 featured another pole match: a Raw Womenâs Title Kendo Stick on a Pole match between Alexa Bliss and Bayley at Extreme Rules 2017, where Alexa defeated Bayley to retain the title.
