What is WWE's Bloodline rules match? Explained

The Bloodline (The Rock & Roman Reigns) have been in a rivalry with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins after he turned heel at the WrestleMania XL Kick-off show. The rivalry resulted in The Rock & Roman Reigns challenging Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins for a Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 40 Night 1.

The People’s champ added stipulations to the match stating that if Cody & Seth wins the tag team match, Cody’s championship match against Roman Reigns at Night 2 will be free from The Bloodline, as no one from the Bloodline, including Paul Heyman will not be on the ringside during the match. If The Rock & Roman Reigns won the match, it would be a Bloodline Rules match at Night 2. 

At WrestleMania Night 1, The Rock and Roman Reigns after a great fight with Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins, won the match with Rock delivering a Rock bottom & People’s Elbow. This made the WrestleMania 40 Night 2 main event match of Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship come under The Bloodline rules. So what is the Bloodline rules match?

The Rock while explaining the stipulation on SmackDown said The Bloodline rules match laws will be laid by The Bloodline themselves. They would be in the ringside and do all kinds of stuff including Rock doing commentary, Jimmy Uso could be the special guest referee to give The Tribal Chief an unfair advantage in the title defense. Paul Heyman could attack Cody to help the Bloodline leader. Solo Sikoa could sing a national anthem during the match & The potential Rock’s involvement in the match.

The Samoan Dynasty member and The Usos father, Rikishi was asked about the Bloodline rules on his “The Rikishi Driver Talk Show”, where he explained that it could be something similar to a Street Fight with no disqualifications or count outs, a number of foreign objects could be involved including trash cans to tables to sticks to chairs and whatever they find in the arena and asked if the world is ready to the Bloodline rules match to hint it could be so brutal.

At the post WrestleMania 40 press conference, Rock was again asked about Bloodline rules, to which The Final Boss said, “expect the unexpected” and said that they will bring a lot of surprises. Rock said, “The Final Boss can’t tell you that. I can’t tell everybody that, I gotta keep everybody guessing including Cody Rhodes. That’s important. So yeah, great question. You sure can expect the unexpected and a lot of surprises”.
