To settle their feud, General Manager Adam Pearce booked the two stars in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match at the upcoming Clash in Paris PLE. The third installment of the Clash PLE will take place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, Paris, France.

Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook match rules

A Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match in WWE is a No Disqualification hardcore bout, featuring large barrels of Irish Brandy and shillelaghs placed at ringside for the competitors to use.

It is a specialty match invented by Sheamus himself and is essentially a no-disqualification, street fight-style contest inspired by traditional Irish bar brawls. The chaotic environment of the match is meant to evoke the wild, free-for-all spirit of historic Donnybrook Fairs in Ireland.

The match allows stars to use various weapons, especially with Irish connections, such as barrels and shillelaghs. The winner can be crowned via pinfall or submission inside the ring. Additionally, there are no count-outs or disqualifications.

The first-ever Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match took place on the July 29, 2022, episode of SmackDown, where the Celtic Warrior battled Drew McIntyre, with McIntyre emerging victorious.

A tag team version of the match was also held at the 2022 edition of Extreme Rules PLE, featuring The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Pete Dunne, and Ridge Holland) against Imperium (Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci), with The Brawling Brutes securing the win.
