What's next for Jinder Mahal after WWE exit?

The Modern Day Maharaja has left WWE
Jinder Mahal, one of the wrestlers of Indian descent was recently released by WWE. While he was recently put on a match against Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins for his World Title, it is quite surprising to see that he is released by the company, prior to Jinder, Shanky, one of his teammates was released by WWE.
While it is important to note that he recently took a dig at Tony Khan and AEW superstar, Hook, let’s see what he can do now after his release from the biggest wrestling company.
Who is Jinder Mahal?
Yuvraj Singh Dhesi, better known by his ring name Jinder Mahal, has had quite the journey in the world of professional wrestling. From his early days on the independent circuit to his rise to prominence in WWE, he’s left a mark on the industry.
One of the notable aspects of his career is his transformation upon returning to WWE in 2016. His dedication to fitness and training led to a significant change in his physique, which caught the attention of fans and WWE management alike. This transformation played a key role in his subsequent push within the company.
His crowning achievement came in 2017 when he became the WWE Champion, a title that solidified his place in wrestling history as the first champion of Indian descent. His reign may have been relatively short, but it was a significant milestone, showcasing diversity and representation within the wrestling world.
Even beyond his WWE Championship reign, Mahal has continued to be a presence in WWE, capturing titles such as the United States Championship and the WWE 24/7 Championship. His contributions to the sport, both in terms of his in-ring performances and his role as an ambassador for diversity, have made him a respected figure among fans and peers alike.
What happened between Jinder and The Hook
It seems like there was quite a bit of buzz surrounding both Jinder Mahal and Hook in their respective promotions. Mahal’s challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, despite his limited TV appearances, and Hook’s impressive run in AEW certainly caught the attention of wrestling fans.
The exchange of words between Jinder Mahal and Tony Khan, followed by Mahal’s now-deleted post mocking Hook’s notoriety, added an extra layer of drama to the situation. However, in the end, neither Mahal nor Hook were successful in capturing their respective world titles.
Jinder Mahal’s departure from WWE for the second time marks a new chapter in his career, while Hook continues to be seen as one of the most promising young talents in pro wrestling. It’ll be interesting to see how their careers progress from here and if they cross paths again in the future.
Whats Next for him?
While he is released for WWE, it will be interesting to see what happens with him now. As we know Vince actually saw some potential in him as he was the one who pushed him for the WWE title, which he won against Randy Orton. Furthermore with the help of The Great Khali, who himself runs a wrestling promotion in India named CWC.
AEW might be the next stop for Jinder Mahal but it is of a less possibility as he did take a shot at Tony Khan, who is running the show right now.
As the 90-day clause still remains with him, he can’t go anywhere. He might go for a premium wrestling at NJPW but nobody knows what he is thinking regarding the same. While it will be interesting to speculate, what if he makes his third return to WWE in the near future. With Triple H as the head of the creative, and if the fans want, he might return again.
While nobody knows what can happen to him, he had great potential which was ruined by WWE because of the bad booking that Jinder Mahal faced in recent times. It will be interesting to see how Indus Shers will react as they join Mahal on the free agents list. Indian fans won’t be happy about the same as he was one of the best wrestlers of Indian descent.
