Saudi Arabia has become one of the biggest hotspots for big sports events
WWE is all set to host the King and Queen of the Ring 2024 PLE in Jeddah Superdome, in Jeddah, Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia on May 25, 2024. This is the eleventh PLE to take place in the Saudi Arabian soil and this year marks the tenth year anniversary.
It started as a regional promotion, however evolved into a global promotion over the years. They promoted their company overseas with world tours and events in International venues. One such important International venue is Saudi Arabia.
WWE has been hosting WWE events in Saudi Arabia since 2014 and this year marks the tenth year anniversary. WWE has been hosting two PLEs regularly in Saudi Arabia as a part of the deal since 2018. So when does WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia expire?
WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia
WWE has been hosting non-televised house shows in Saudi Arabia since 2014. In 2018, the company signed a 10-year strategic partnership with the Ministry of Sport. In 2019 the partnership was expanded with the General Authority of Entertainment. As a part of the deal, WWE has been hosting two major PLEs in Saudi Arabia, one in Jeddah and the other in Riyadh.
As per the deal, WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia will come to an end by 2027. However, there might be a contract extension or a new deal, considering the big revenue.
