WWE will make its debut on the Netflix streaming platform very soon!

In January 2024, WWE announced that WWE’s flagship weekly program, WWE Raw is sold for a ten-year deal with the world’s leading entertainment service, Netflix for a whooping deal of more than USD 5 billion.

It will be the exclusive new home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, among other territories, with additional countries and regions to be added over time.

As per the deal, Netflix will also be the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the United States, including Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Netflix will also be streaming the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble.

So when is WWE making the big move? Here is everything you need to know about the landscape-changing move from the USA Network to Netflix.

When is WWE moving to Netflix?

At the Bash in Berlin post-show press conference, Cody Rhodes appeared on behalf of Triple H to address the media. Rhodes was asked about the exact date of WWE’s debut on the streaming platforms. Rhodes said that the exact date of WWE’s Netflix debut will be on January 06, 2025, for Monday Night Raw and asked the media persons to mark the calendars for the big premiere. This will mark an end to WWE Raw’s 31-year journey from linear television for the very first time.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H ahead of the Netflix movie said that the content could be changed, especially when it comes to censorship, as the wrestlers and fans can say anything on the live show, as there will be no censor issues in the OTT like it is with the Television shows. Hunter believes that it is a game-changing move.

Triple H said

“Right now, just as an example of us being on Fox, if the crowd chants, ‘Holy s**t’ or something much worse, they just take that audio. We won’t have those issues [on] Netflix. It’s a game-changing moment. I think in many ways, not to disparage other partners because we want to be everywhere, but [streaming is] sort of where the world is heading,”

John Cena has already announced that he will be part of WWE’s move to Netflix, as he is expected to kick off his retirement tour from there.
