Jade Cargill was written off from WWE programming due to real injury
One-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, Jade Cargill was severely injured due to an attack on the 11/22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The promotion has yet not revealed who was behind the attack.
Cargill was laid out on the hood during the Women’s US title tournament match between Chelsea Green, Blair Davenport, and Jade’s tag partner Bianca Belair. Belair left the match midway and rushed to check up on her tag partner.
Following the attack, the Stamford-based promotion provided an update on Jade’s situation stating that the star has suffered multiple injuries.
Cargill was left bloodied on the hood of a car with a broken windshield. Jade has been diagnosed with the following injuries, Deep Lumbar Paraspinal Muscle Contusions, Bruised Kidney, Sprained MCL in her right knee, Tibial Plateau Bone Bruise of her right knee, and Facial Lacerations. Jade Cargill will be out of action until WrestleMania 41
In the pre-taped 11/29 episode of the Blue brand, Bayley replaced Cargill in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024. The 11/29 episode was pre-taped following the 11/22 episode due to the holidays.
According to recent reports from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Cargill is dealing with a legitimate injury which is why she was written off from the WarGames clash at the upcoming PLE. The report further added that Cargill will be out of action for at least three months.
Later reports revealed that Jade is dealing with a neck injury, and the injury has left her wrestling future uncertain. Estimates suggest she may be out for anywhere from three months to a year, casting doubt on her chances of competing at WrestleMania 41.
“Bayley replaces Jade Cargill in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series in Vancouver. We did get confirmation that Cargill is injured but the severity wasn’t known internally past those involved in creative were told it will be a minimum of three months out, maybe longer, which is why they released the story of such severe injuries.”
The Stamford-based promotion has not yet addressed the future of Bianca and Cargill as Women’s Tag Team Champions. It looks like Cargill will be back just in time for the WrestleMania PLE next year.
The promotion could utilize long-term storytelling and reveal the culprit behind the attack to set up a match with Cargill at the biggest stage of them all upon her return.
Latest reports ahead of 11/29 SmackDown reveal that the initial reports are false as the dramatic segment on the 11/22 episode of SmackDown was a deliberate plot twist, laying the groundwork for a future storyline. The report closes by reiterating “So, in short, Jade Cargill is not injured.”
