2025 will be John Cena’s last year in the WWE

Regarded by many as the greatest professional wrestler of all time, John Cena is ready to kick off his WWE retirement tour. Cena will embark on a final journey, stepping into the squared ring for what are set to be some of his last matches, marking the end of an era in sports entertainment.

The Cenation Leader revealed his plans to retire from in-ring competition at the end of 2025 during Money in the Bank 2024 PLE. Cena would hang up his wrestling boots and retire from in-ring action at the end of 2025.

After a remarkable career in the WWE that spans nearly 25 years, Cena is ready for a final goodbye as he shifts focus full-time to his acting career in Hollywood.

The Cenation Leader has multiple accolades in the promotion, he is a 16-time WWE Champion boasting 13 WWE Championships and three World Heavyweight Championships. Cena shares the record of 16 world titles with WWE legend Ric Flair.

Cena also is a five-time United States Champion, second only to Ric Flair who has six reigns. He has been involved in some of the most memorable matches in the history of WWE.

This includes matches across various generational talents, starting from battling stars in his young careers like Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar to high-profile opponents like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk, The Rock, and Randy Orton, and finally, throwing hands against modern-era superstars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

WWE EVP Chris Legentil has revealed that the G.O.A.T of pro wrestling will go out on his own term as he will do a full year-long tour with the promotion next year before hanging up his wrestling boots.

“John Cena, as you might know, is going on his farewell tour. He announced last July that he’s retiring. But he’s going out on his own terms. He’s gonna do a full year-long tour with us. And that’s gonna be worldwide. We think that the opportunity for the people to see John Cena one last time all around the world is going to be quite powerful.” Legentil said.

A retirement tour for Cena would be a fantastic gift for fans who have supported the 16-time champion for years. It would also be intriguing to see which other WWE superstars are included in the tour.

Fans are also hoping that the Cenation leader will capture the WWE title, inscribing his name in history as the first-ever 17-time WWE Champion.
