Roman Reigns currently competes under the SmackDown brand
āThe OTCā Roman Reigns is the face of the Friday Night SmackDown brand and has been competing under the Blue brand since 2019. He was drafted to the Blue brand as part of the 2019 superstars shakeup.
However, during his early days in the promotion he primarily competed under the Red brand. He is scheduled to face Solo Sikoa in a tribal combat match next month at the Raw debut episode on Netflix which is scheduled for January 6 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Reigns made his main roster television debut on November 18, 2012, at the Survivor Series PLE along with Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) and Seth Rollins. The three stars debut as āThe Shieldā, the faction assaulted Ryback during the triple threat for the WWE Championship.
In his early days on the main roster, The OTC along with his Shield brothers terrorized the entire roster as they vowed to rally against āinjusticeā. As the famous saying goes āall good things must come to an endā, this became true in this case when Rollins turned on his Shield brother attacking Reigns and Ambrose.
Rollins turned his back on the faction attacking his stablemates to align with The Authority and Triple H. Reigns subsequently started his single reign and achieved multiple accolades in the WWE. Reigns became the World Heavyweight Champion on three separate occasions.
He also held the Undisputed WWE title, the United States title and the Intercontinental title once. Reigns relinquished the Undisputed title and announced his hiatus from the Red brand in October 2018. The OTC revealed that his leukemia had returned after 11 years of privately battling it.
After defeating leukemia, Roman made his highly anticipated WWE return in March 2019, reuniting The Shield in the process. At Fastlane on March 10, Reigns, along with Rollins and Ambrose, triumphed over Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre in a thrilling six-man tag team match.
As mentioned earlier he was drafted to SmackDown in April as part of the 2019 WWE Superstar Shake-up. His run in the Blue brand started as āThe Tribal Chiefā as Reigns accumulated multiple records including being one of the most dominant champions the promotion has ever seen.
Reignsā title reign that started in 2022 lasted a total of 1316 days is the fourth-longest world title reign in WWE history and the longest championship reign since 1988.
Roman Reigns last wrestled on the Red brand in 2024
Reigns battled Solo Sikoa in a tribal combat match in the Netflix debut episode of Monday Night Raw. The sacred Ula Fala was on the line for this matchup, this clash was one of the most significant ones in the Bloodline saga as the two Titans went head to head in a singles competition.
Despite interference from the Bloodline and Kevin Owens, Solo was unable to pin Reigns as The OTC emerged victorious in the clash and reclaimed the Ula Fala.
This was the Original Tribal Chiefās first match on the Red brand since July 2022. In recent times, Reigns mostly competes on major PLEs his last match being the menās WarGames clash at the Survivor Series 2024 PLE where the OG Bloodline triumphed over Solo Sikoaās Bloodline.
Reigns last competed on the Red brand in a six-man tag match where The Bloodline (Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso & Roman Reigns) defeated Matt Riddle & The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford).
This match took place on the 07/25/202 show which took place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, USA.
Reigns was scheduled to team up with Solo Sikoa to battle the team of Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes in the main event of the 4/3/23 episode of the Red brand (Night after WrestleMania 39) which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
However, the match never officially began as Lesnar turned on his tag partner as he grabbed Rhodes, and hit him with two F-5s in a row during the intros. The match never began which is why the 2022 six-man tag team action is the last match Reigns wrestled in.
