The OTC was betrayed by his Wiseman at the ‘Grandest Stage’
After months of build-up, the feud between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk culminated in a triple-threat match in the main event of WrestleMania 41 (Night One) on April 19 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The clash also saw CM Punk realize his dream of main eventing WrestleMania, accompanied by Reigns’ Wiseman, Paul Heyman, who, as promised, fulfilled his favor to Punk. Meanwhile, Reigns was left feeling betrayed, an emotion that would later prove to be justified, though not for the reasons he had initially believed.
As anticipated, the triple-threat main event clash saw the three men decimate each other, leaving a trail of destruction. However, the mood shifter as Heyman brought a steel chair in the ring and handed it to Punk as Reigns looked in disbelief.
This wasn’t Heyman’s play as he then landed a low blow on Punk and handed the steel chair to Reigns who then started beating Punk with the chair, only for Heyman to take his OTC out with a low blow and then he did something which shocked everyone and handed the steel chair to Seth Rollins, who picked up the win and revealed the new alliance with Heyman.
Roman Reigns is expected to miss Backlash 2025 PLE
While Reigns made an appearance on Raw after WrestleMania, where Heyman and Rollins introduced Bron Breakker as the new member of their alliance as Breakker took out both Reigns and Punk, the OTC is expected to be out of action.
It’s not unusual for Reigns to be out of action following a WrestleMania PLE, and the same is expected this year. However, according to a new report, details about his next potential PLE appearance have been revealed.
During the latest episode of WrestleVotes Q&A, it was revealed that Roman Reigns will likely not be on the Backlash card, while a Money in the Bank appearance is expected. The MITB 2025 PLE is set for June 7 from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
“I’d be surprised if he’s on the Backlash card. Money in the Bank is possible, but I’m not counting on him next weekend being at St. Louis, no.”
How will Roman Reigns react to the betrayal and the subsequent beatdown? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
