The Final Boss recently aligned with John Cena at Elimination Chamber PLE
Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently made his return on the 02/21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he extended a unique offer to the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Johnson gave Rhodes some time to consider his proposal, with the deadline for a decision set for the Elimination Chamber 2025 PLE on March 1.
At the Elimination Chamber PLE, John Cena won the men’s Chamber match, after which Rhodes made his appearance and congratulated the veteran. However, the mood shifted as The Rock made his appearance alongside hip-hop star Travis Scott and asked for Cody’s response, what followed shook the entire pro wrestling world.
Rhodes firmly rejected Johnson’s offer and told him, “Hey Rock, go f*** yourself!” This was followed by Cena embracing Cody initially, but things changed as Johnson signaled a cut throat gesture, which changed Cena’s farcical expression completely as he landed a vicious low blow on the champion.
Cena, Johnson and Scott then got up, battering the Champion and leaving him bruised and bloodied. This was the first time John Cena turned heel and the two megastars announced their alliance in the most brutal way possible.
The Rock’s last loss in the WWE came at WrestleMania 29
While The Rock and John Cena have formed an alliance, the two stars were at each other’s throat during 2013. The feud between the two stars culminated in a main event clash at the grandest stage where the WWE Championship was on the line.
Johnson defended the WWE Championship against Cena at the 29th edition of WrestleMania, which emanated from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA.
Cena defeated The Rock to win the title at WrestleMania 29, exacting revenge for his loss at the 28th edition of WrestleMania. This remains the last loss of The Rock’s WWE career, and he has since remained undefeated.
Apart from the loss in 2013, the Final Boss has wrestled on only two occasions up until now, both of which came at the grandest stage. Johnson’s next clash was against Erik Rowan at the WrestleMania 32 PLE which emanated from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.
Johnson made a record as he defeated Rowan in mere six seconds, to the surprise of everyone. The next and his most recent in-ring action came last year at the WrestleMania 40 where he teamed up with Roman Reigns to battle the team of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
Reigns and Johnson defeated the team of Rhodes and Rollins in the first day (Saturday) of WrestleMania 40 PLE which emanated from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
