Drew is currently building a feud with CM Punk since Royal Rumble. McIntyre has been trolling Punk for quite long now. McIntyre also claims that he was the one who injured Punk to bury his WrestleMania main event dream. However it is reported that Drew is injured and is forced to be on the bench until medically cleared. Here we have a look at when Drew Mcintyre will be cleared to compete.
Drew McIntyre’s in-ring return
Before the May 6, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, Raw General Manager, Adam Pearce announced that Drew Mcintyre was pulled out from the King of the Ring Tournament as he is not medically cleared to compete. Drew was originally slated to face Finn Balor in the first round tournament, but due to his injury Jey Uso had to take his place.
McIntyre previously reported that he is suffering from an hyperextended elbow on his right hand at WrestleMania 40. The Scottish Warrior has been seen wearing arm braces since then. However McIntyre has still continued to work through it, hiding the severity of the injury. McIntyre used it as a part of his ongoing storyline feud with CM Punk.
However it seems like he has worsened his injury. However there is no update on how severe the injury is and how long it will take him to return to in-ring return.
However it seems like both Drew McIntyre & CM Punk will be medically cleared to compete before June 15, 2024 at Clash at the Castle, as Punk teased a potential match at Glasgow, Scotland on his recent promo on Raw.
Drew McIntyre mocks CM Punk’s promo on 5/6 RAW
CM Punk recently appeared on Raw, moments after Drew left the building to cut a promo against “The Scottish Warrior”. Punk badly wanted Drew to be there for a fight.
So, the “Second City Saint” asked Pat McAfee and the WWE Universe to tag “Drew McIntyre” on Twitter for him to return to the arena. Punk during his promo said, “Drew Mcintyre is a choke artist.
