Jey, Dragunov & Gunther advance in the King of the Ring; SKY, Valkyria & Zoey advance in the Queen of the Ring and more!!!
The May 06, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw is officially over and it is one of the must see episode of Raw, where the WWE Draft settled & marks the beginning of the King & Queen of the Ring Tournaments. WWE showcased some of the bangers in the first round and every match exceeded the expectations. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of Raw in detail, as we came out with the complete match summary, highlights & results for the show.
Raw Summary & Highlights
The Judgment Day
The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio) kicked off Monday Night Raw. Priest addressed the win over Jey at Backlash. Finn apologized to Priest for interfering in his match. Priest aplogized to Finn & JD for being rude to them. Finn claims that Drew McIntyre is unable to compete & he will surpass the first round without a match. However Adam pearce stopped him & announced Jey Uso as his opponent in the first round match.
King of the Ring Match First Round Match- Finn Balor vs Jey Uso
The match began with both Finn Balor & Jey Uso countering each other’s moves. Jey took Balor out & hit a suicide dive, but Balor soon turned the momentum by sending jey to the steel steps and through the announcement table. Back in the ring, the momentum went swinging on both the directions, with Balor trying to finish the things with Coupe De Grace & Jey trying to finish Balor with Superkick & Frog Splash.
During the final moments of the match, Jey countered Balor’s Coupe de Grace and hit a spear. While Jey tried to climb the top rope, Drew Mcintyre showed up from the audience side. Balor tried to use the distraction and roll out Jey, but Jey escaped and speared him to win the match. After the match, Drew entered the ring starring Jey, but Jey left the ring.
CM Punk wants Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre left the arena finding CM Punk is not in the arena, while Drew’s car moved out, Punk’s car came in. Punk walked straight to the ring to cut a promo.
Punk said that Drew is not here, but he wants him to break his mouth. Punk said that he would be in the mind of Mcintyre all the time and he would be scrolling the twitter. So he asked Pat McAfee to tweet asking McIntyre to return to the Arena.
Punk waits for Drew’s arrival, in the mean time he tells a story about who Drew is. Punk said that Drew is claiming himself who injured CM Punk, but Punk in return injured his elbow and made his life a living hell at WrestleMania and making him withdraw from King of the Ring Tournament. Punk claims that Drew messed up with the Pettiest man and when he see him again he would break his face and his heart. Drew prays for everything, but he is not sure if he is fearing got, but he do know that Drew is feared of CM Punk.
Queen of the Ring Match First Round Match- IYO SKY vs Natalya
The match began with both countering each other moves until Natalya treid to lock IYO into the Sharp-Shooter, but SKY counters the move. Natalya sneaked out and hit a big boot sending her to the apron. back in the ring, SKY changed the momentum with a springboard missile drop kick.
Natalya after the commercial took SKY in control with a powerslam and a super-plex from the top rope. SKY countered Natalya’s pinfall into a Crossface and hit a stomp, followed by a drop kick. Natalya managed to deliver a Sitout Powerbomb and looks for a Sharp Shooter, but SKY sent her head first to the turnbuckles and hit a Mooonsault to win & advance to the second round.
Damage CTRL
After IYO SKY’s win, Dakota Kai addressed their arrival on Raw. Kai announced that Asuka is injured and she will replace her in the tournament. She sends message to Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill saying that they will be coming after to take everything from them.
King of the Ring Match First Round Match- Ilja Dragunov vs Ricochet
The match began with both escaping each others move. Dragunov chops Ricochet and hit a step up enzigiri. Ricochet hit Dragunov with a flying knee. Ricochet hit a springboard clothesline and a standing moonsault. Ricochet sends Dragunov out of the ring, but Dragunov took control with a suplex landing Ricochet face first. Ricochet took Dragunov with a Hurricanrana from the top rope. Ricochet followed it up with a couple of suicide dive and flew over him.
After the commercial, Dragunov hit a senton from the top rope, but kicked out. Dragunov chops Ricochet, but Ricochet counters his next move with a superkick. Ricochet rolls through and hit a second rope Lion-sault. Dragunov hit a running knee, Ricochet hit him with a Poison-rana.
Dragunov hit a powerbomb, H-Bomb and looks for Torpedo Mascow, but Ricochet counters with a Recoil. Dragunov hit a vertical super-plex and again hit a second H-Bomb to win & advance to the next round. After the match, Dragunov shook hands with Ricochet showcasing sportsmanship.
Queen of the Ring Match First Round Match- Zoey Stark vs Ivy Nile
The match began with both countering each other’s move. Nile hit a vertical suplex, super kicked Zoey and hit a step up enzigiri. Zoey fights back hitting a missile drop kick. Both went for the top rope and Nile hit a Super-Bull Dog. Zoey with a quick superkick and a slide kick took control of Nile. Zoey climbs to the top rope, Nile joins her, but Zoey escaped and hit her face to the turnbuckle, followed by a Dragon Suplex, turing Nile inside out. Zoey then hit a Z-360 and picked up the win to advance to the next round.
Backstage- The Judgment Day
The Judgment Day were on the backstage consoling Finn Balor’s loss. They look to handle Braun Strowman and asked JD McDonagh to handle it. Dom briught Carlito, but Priest not forgiven Carlito for causing his match at Puerto Rico last year and asked him to leave.
Chad Gable vs Bronson Reed
Chad Gable chopped Reed, escaping his counter move and hit him a German Suplex. Reed fought back and went for the top rope, but Gable threw Reed down. As both were down, Sami Zayn attacked Gable to end the match in a no contest. Zayn took Reed out of the ring, Gable hit a German Suplex on Sami, Sami hit an exploder suplex, Reed took both Sami and Chad with Manhandle slams.
Reed walked to the backstage & met Adam Pearce. Reed claimed that he is not bothered about Sami or Gable, but he is only concerned about the Intercontinental Championship.
Becky Lynch interview & interferences
Becky Lynch was interviewed by Michael Cole inside the ring, where she addressed the newbies in the Raw roster after WWE Draft. She named few saying that they are a great addition, but left saying Liv Morgan’s name. Liv confronted her and said that she is underestimating her & didn’t get enough respect from Becky. Liv asked Becky about her promise of offering a title shot, which Becky gave at King & queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia.
Damage CTRL confronted them saying Liv Morgan doesn’t deserve a title shot and surreounded both of them. Liv rolled out saying that it is not her problem. Damage CTRL attacked Becky, where fellow Irishwomen, Lyra Valkyria came for the save.
Sami Zayn offers Championship match
Sami Zayn was interviewed backstage addressesing his issues with Chad Gable. He said that it is personal with him. He differentiates his feud with Reed saying that it is for the title. Sami Zayn offered Chad Gable & Bronson Reed a Triple Threat match for the IC Title at King and Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia.
Queen of the Ring Match First Round Match- Lyra Valkyria vs Dakota Kai
The match began with both countering each other’s move. Valkyria hit a step up enzigiri and Kai fights back banging her head to the turnbuckle. After the commercial, Valkyria gets her momentum back aending Kai out and hit a sliding drop kick. Back in the ring hit a crossbody and a vertical suplex. Kai fights back and stomped her on back of the head. Kai hit Valkyria with a big boot to the corner. Valkyria however hit a Night wish for the win.
King of the Ring First Round Match- Gunther vs Sheamus
Both lock their heads and rolled all over the ropes. Both exchanged vicious chops to the chest, however Gunther took control with a big boot, sending him to the apron and hit two chops to the bodhran. Gunther tries to powerbomb Sheamus on the apron, but Sheamus threw him over landing back first to the apron and followed it up with a cannon ball from the apron to outside the ring.
After the commercial, Gunther choped Sheamus on the back and tried to rip his head out of the socket. Gunther locks Sheamus with a head lock. Sheamus fights back, but Gunther hit him with a series of vicious chops. Sheamus asks for more and hit an Irish Backbreaker to the knees. Gunther with quick clothesline took Sheamus down.
Sheamus hit a white noise and a poweslam. Sheamus took Gunther to the apron and hit 17 beats of the Bodhran. Sheamus looks to finish it with a Brogue kick, but Gunther escapes. While referee was distracted Kaiser locks Sheamus leg to the roped and drop kicked him. Referee caught him involving in the match and sent him out from the ringside.
Gunther targetted Sheamus’ knee, wrips his knee pad and land strike targetting the leg. Gunther looks for a clothesline, but Sheamhs hit im instead. Sheamus looks for a Celtic Cross, but his knee gave out. However Sheamus hit his knee to the face. Sheamus looks for a Brogue, but again his knee gave out. Gunther hit a Powerbomb, and converts it to a one legged Boston Crab, but Sheamus reached the rope.
Gunther went for the top rope, Sheamus hit him with a Celtic Cross. Sheamus is fired up and he hit him with a knee to the face and a Brogue kick, but Gunther kicked out. Gunther locked Sheamus leg with a Boston Crab and picked up the win forcing him to submit.

- Jey Uso defeated Finn Balor by pinfall in the King of the Ring First Round.
- IYO SKY defeated Natalya by pinfall in the Queen of the Ring First Round.
- Ilja Dragunov defeated Ricochet by pinfall in the King of the Ring First Round.
- Zoey Stark defeated Ivy Nile by pinfall in the Queen of the Ring First Round.
- Chad Gable vs Bronson Reed ended up in a no-contest by the interference of Sami Zayn.
- Lyra Valkyria defeated Dakota Kai by pinfall in the Queen of the Ring First Round.
- Gunther defeated Sheamus by submission in the King of the RIng First Round.
