WWE Raw debut show will take place on January 6

The Stamford-based promotion is gearing up for the debut show of Monday Night Raw on the streaming platform Netflix. The change will come into effect with its highly anticipated debut show, taking place on January 6th, at the Intruit Dome in Los Angeles, California.

Apart from the regular programming, the platform will also become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S.

The debut episode of the Red brand features several top stars from the roster including, John Cena, Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns and many more.

The promotion has also announced high-stakes matches for the debut show. Liv Morgan will defend her Women’s World title against Rhea Ripley while Roman Reigns will battle Solo Sikoa in a Tribal combat match for the Ula Fala.

CM Punk vs Seth Rollins is the main event for the debut show

Along with the two clashes, WWE also announced a match between CM Punk and Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the debut show. The announcement was made during the 12/16 episode of WWE Raw by General Manager Adam Pearce.

The two stars are engaged in a fierce feud which has led to a lot of heated exchanges. This war of words turned into a physical confrontation this week on the Red brand when the two stars started brawling during the show.

During the WWE Raw On Netflix Kick off Event recently the promotion announced the main event of the debut show. Michael Cole announced during the event that the clash between Punk and Seth Rollins would be the main event of Netflix’s debut show.

Punk and Rollins came face-to-face during the closing moments of the kickoff show. The two immediately started exchanging heated words which turned into a shoving contest. Triple H and Adam Pearce stepped in to diffuse the situation as Cole bid farewell to the fans.

The tension between Punk and Rollins has been building for months, including a memorable moment at SummerSlam when Rollins was the special guest referee for Punk’s match with Drew McIntyre, only to eat a GTS from Punk.

The feud between the two stars will now culminate at the Intuit Dome on January 6 in the debut episode of the Red brand.
