These four superstars remain the biggest names in wrestling to this day
Professional wrestling’s portrayal of women has changed dramatically over the previous few years. WWE’s “Four Horsewomen” consists of four well-known names.
They are Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Sasha Banks (currently known as Mercedes Moné in AEW). All four have gone on to achieve great success.
They are all previous world champions and some of the most recognizable names in professional wrestling. Unquestionably, the four of them are history-makers.
Before achieving huge success on the main roster, all four ladies began their WWE careers as NXT members. They were only beginning to establish themselves as prominent stars in the world of professional wrestling.
So, here is everything you need to know about who the four horsewomen in WWE are and why they are given a certain nickname.
Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks were given the professional wrestling name known as the Four Horsewomen.
Four Horsewomen of WWE
The group name was a tribute to the UFC’s Four Horsewomen (Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir) and The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, and Tully Blanchard). The group of four formed during their time on WWE NXT, and the original four all advanced to the main roster together.
Paige similarly is also considered part of them. All, these women are known as the Horsewomen whose immense hard work made the WWE Women’s division what it is today.
All four women debuted with WWE’s NXT developmental brand in 2012 and 2013, and their careers will be inextricably linked because of what they did with and against one another.
It’s impossible to overstate their impact, from their February 2015 Fatal Four-Way match at NXT TakeOver Rival to era-defining NXT matches like Banks vs Bayley, a WrestleMania triple threat between Banks, Flair, and Lynch, and finally the first-ever women’s main event WrestleMania, which featured Flair, Lynch, and Ronda Rousey.
