Donald Trump isn’t gonna go down without a ‘fight’

WWE Hall of Famer and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign event, causing his face to be smeared with blood and prompting his security officers to rush him before he emerged and shook his fist in the air, mouthing the words “Fight! Fight! Fight!”.

According to the Secret Service, the shooter died, one rally attendee was killed, and two other spectators were injured. The event was being examined as an assassination attempt.

Law enforcement authorities told reporters that they had made a preliminary identification of a suspected gunman but were not yet ready to make it public. They also stated that they had not yet determined a motive. The incident took place less than four months before Trump’s rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden on November 5. The majority of opinion surveys, including those conducted by Reuters/Ipsos, show the two in a tight race.

The shooting generated immediate concerns about the Secret Service’s security breaches, as the agency provided previous presidents, including Trump, with lifetime protection. It was the first gunshot of a US president or major party candidate since Republican President Ronald Reagan’s attempted assassination in 1981.

Who tried shooting Donald Trump?

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, has been identified as the gunman who attempted to murder Donald Trump, former US President and 2024 presidential contender, at an outdoor event in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to the New York Post.

Following the incident, Secret Service agents shot the man dead and retrieved an AR-style weapon. According to authorities, the assailant was stationed on the top of a manufacturing factory, more than 130 yards from the platform where Donald Trump was speaking to the audience at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

Donald Trump was shot in the right ear, and in his first statement following the event, he expounded on the circumstances. Donald Trump said on the social networking platform Truth Social, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.”

He went on to say, “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.” The former US President sent his sympathies to the family of the deceased rallygoer and thanked law police for their reaction.
