Garcia will always be remembered as one of the best ring announcers of all time

Lilian Garcia is an American ring announcer, singer and podcaster, who is widely known for her time in WWE. Garcia is one of the veteran ring announcers and the greatest Women Ring Announcers of all time. She is an inspiration to many Divas who entered WWE as ring announcers to date.

Lilian Garcia worked for WWE from 1999 to 2016 and was part of the announcement team. Despite being a ring announcer, she was also involved in a number of storylines and feuds.

Garcia was the first woman to be in WWE for over a decade, for which she is honored as the first and only “Decade Diva”. She first retired as a ring announcer in 2009 and went on to continue her singing career full-time and achieved great success there. She is currently signed to Professional Fighters League (MMA) and is the ring announcer there.

Lilian Garcia recently appeared on the May 13, 2024 episode of Raw, where she was asked by the current Raw ring announcer, Samanta Irvin to announce the 2024 King of the Ring Quarterfinals tournament match between Gunther and Kofi Kingston. As the veteran announcer showed up on the show, we take a look at why Lilian Garcia left WWE in 2016.

Why did Lilian Garcia leave WWE in 2016?

Lilian Garcia on August 1, 2016, announced her departure from WWE under personal circumstances as she had to take care of his father, who was suffering from two unidentified types of cancer. However, she returned on December 14, 2016, for a one-night WWE Tribute to the Troops event to sing the American National Anthem. Days after her first part-time appearance, she announced that her father passed away on Christmas Day.

Garcia then had multiple part-time appearances on WWE events on special occasions, most importantly for the first-ever Mae Young Classic finals match, first-ever WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal, first-ever Women’s pay-per-view ‘WWE Evolution’ and 2024 King of the Ring Quarterfinals match as a ring announcer.

In January 2018 during the Raw 25th Anniversary, she was honored as one of the female legends who has heavily contributed to WWE’s success. Who is your favorite WWE Ring Announcer of all time? Tell us in the comments below.
