Why did Rhea Ripley vacate her WWE Women’s World Title?

Rhea Ripley is one of the most dominant and powerful WWE superstar, who has been having a great run in the main roster.
She is a five-time Champion and the fifth Women’s GrandSlam Champion. Ripley at WrestleMania 40 defended her Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch and successfully retained the title to officially surpass one-year title reign.
However, within two weeks of her biggest Mania win, Ripley was forced to relinquish the title ending her reign at 380 days. Here is a complete detail on why Rhea Ripley relinquished her Women’s World title.
Why did Rhea Ripley relinquish the World title?
Last week on the Raw after WrestleMania 40, Rhea Ripley was backstage discussing with Dom. While Dom went to meet Pearce, Rhea was attacked by Liv Morgan from the back with a steel chair. Liv went on to take her down with brutal strikes. After the attack, WWE announced that Ripley will be addressing Liv’s attack this week on Raw.
Hours before the show, PWInsider announced, “Rhea Ripley was injured on last week’s Raw. The issue is severe enough that the talk internally is that Ripley may be forced to vacate her Championship, possibly as soon as tonight’s episode of RAW.“
Making the reports true, Ripley announced that she legitimately injured her right arm from last week’s attack, which made her unable to compete for at least some months, for which she was forced to relinquish the title. Ripley was not happy with the decision, but with huge anger placed the title on the middle of the ring, to vacate the title.
Ripley warned the next champion that she will be coming for the blood and for the title. She then went on to yell at Liv saying that she has proved to be a coward by attacking her from the back, and would tear her apart after returning.
Liv Morgan arrived and Ripley went to fight with one hand, however the securities separated them. However, a security guard got hit with a head butt, by Rhea. She met her Judgment Day members backstage and had her last word before going for rehabilitation.
WWE later announced that a new Women’s World Champion will be crowned next week on Raw, to spice things up. It is unknown how long Ripley would be away from the television. We wish Ripley a speedy recovery.
