Why WWE fans have completely turned on Charlotte Flair?

The Queen was severely booed in Chicago recently!

During the 04/04 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair, stepped in the ring for a segment moderated by Wade Barrett. The two stars will battle as Stratton is set to defend the title against Flair at WrestleMania 41.

The 04/04 episode of SmackDown emanated from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, which was clearly a pro-Stratton crowd. As the segment began, fans very clearly voiced that they were on the Champion’s side.

However, things escalated for Flair after a few exchanges as it became hard for her to even finish her sentences as the Chicago crowd drowned her in boos. While this hatred from fans stems from Flair’s return after a long hiatus during the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble PLE, which she won resulting in severe backlash from fans.

While Flair was initially set for a face run leading up to Mania, fans were clearly not having it as Charlotte then embraced all the hate and turned heel. However, it has not helped her cause as fans still loudly boo the 14-time WWE World Champion.

Many point to her winning the Women’s Royal Rumble over many deserved stars, but her opponent also plays a big part in the crowd backslash as Tiffany Stratton has become one of the most liked stars in the current roster and going up against a fan favorite who is also loved in this storyline due to her underdog status is a tough challenge for Flair up until now.

Fans have also been fed up as they believe that Flair’s achievements are not due to hard work but because of nepotism and the company favoring her over others. Some of her previous returns have had similar courses as she has returned only to easily defeat champions or win the Royal Rumble, which solidifies the idea of the company handing her all the success on a platter.

As mentioned above Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair engaged in a segment likely to build hype for their title clash at the WrestleMania 41 PLE. What started as a typical back-and-forth on SmackDown quickly went off-script when Stratton brought up Flair’s recent divorce, mentioning her ‘0-3 record’ in reference to her marriages. Flair fired back, suggesting that Stratton’s boyfriend, Ludwig Kaiser was sliding into her DMs.

According to a recent report from PWInsider, the segment went off from their planned script, sources suggest Tiffany’s “0-3” comment was a clapback at Charlotte for dominating a previous exchange. While some felt Stratton held her own and regained attention—especially in front of a Chicago crowd that was clearly behind her—others believed the unscripted direction didn’t benefit either star.
