Jacob Fatu didn’t appear on SmackDown & Roman Reigns hunted The Bloodline

On the August 09, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Solo Sikoa showed up with Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa to confront Cody Rhodes asking for a rematch, but it didn’t end up well, as Kevin Owens made the save with the steel chair.

In the main event of the show, Solo Sikoa with the Tongans called out Roman Reigns to get his Ula Fala if he dared to step in. Roman Reigns made his first appearance on SmackDown after four months and Solo Sikoa sent the Tongans to attack Roman. The Original Tribal Chief took Tama & Loa with the steel steps and delivered a Superman punch to Solo Sikoa. Roman almost took the Ula Fala from Solo, but Tama Tonga attacked Roman from the back.

Roman took both of them down with the Superman Punk and with a spear and Solo escaped with the Ula Fala. Roman then brutally attacked Loa with the steel chair and had a big staredown with Solo. While most of them waited for Jacob Fatu, the Samoan WereWolf didn’t show up. So why was Jacob Fatu not there on this week’s WWE SmackDown?

Jacob Fatu is injured

At SummerSlam 2024, while Jacob Fatu tried to help Solo Sikoa in the Bloodline Rules match against Cody Rhodes, delivered a big Samoan Splash to break the announcement table with Cody. While performing the splash, Fatu bumped his leg, which made Fatu unable to stand.

Michael Cole addressed the potential injury during the match and Triple H confirmed that Fatu suffered an injury during the match at the post-show press conference.

Triple H said,

“Unfortunately, (Jacob Fatu) got a little bit banged up in that last match. The only two real… Logan’s a little banged up, as he should be, and Jacob’s a little banged up. I’ll see where that nets out here in a little bit. Hopefully nothing serious, but it was bugging him a little bit, the leg, so we’ll see where he is.”

On the 8/9 episode of SmackDown, WWE has officially addressed Jacob Fatu’s injury. During the opening segment of the show, when Solo confronted Cody, the American Nightmare addressed Fatu’s injury, when he said that Solo was unable to handle business and made Fatu get hurt.

In the final moments of the show the announcement team addressed Fatu’s injury saying that the other half of the WWE Tag Team Champion, Fatu was injured at SummerSlam and was not there on SmackDown.
