WWE SmackDown saw Roman Reigns getting destroyed by Bloodline 2.0

During the most recent episode of SmackDown, Roman Reigns began his journey against the new-look Bloodline, following his triumphant comeback at the SummerSlam 2024 Premium Live Event. The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion made his intentions obvious as he attacked Solo Sikoa and his stablemates. While Reigns won the first two matches, the third meeting did not go as smoothly.

Roman accepted Sikoa’s challenge to retrieve the Ula Fala, the precious necklace granted to the Tribal Chief. The 39-year-old celebrity was originally able to regain the necklace, but Jacob Fatu reappeared to aid Sikoa gain the upper hand in the fight. After defeating The Head of the Table, Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Fatu delivered a Triple Powerbomb through the announce table.

Let’s look at four reasons why The Bloodline destroyed Roman Reigns on the most recent episode of SmackDown.

4. It helps WWE to write off Roman Reigns until after the Bash in Berlin 2024

When a WWE Superstar gets assaulted backstage or in the ring, it is typically intended to keep that performer off television for a set period. It might be for one week, two weeks, a few months, or to safeguard a valid injury.

Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2024 and is not injured. The attack was staged to demonstrate how vicious it was, similar to what Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman experienced.

If the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is not scheduled for Bash in Berlin 2024 or the programs preceding it, the devastation might have been done to keep him off television until after the next premium live event.

3. Selling The Bloodline 2.0 as a more dominant force

When The Bloodline battled DIY or the Street Profits, it was obvious that they would emerge victorious over the popular tag teams. Going after Kevin Owens and Randy Orton presents a greater challenge because both are formidable opponents.

Solo Sikoa was almost successful in breaking Cody Rhodes’ championship run at SummerSlam 2024. The American Nightmare claimed the #1 spot after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Taking him out to The Biggest Party of the Summer would have made a huge statement.

Since he now has the upper hand over The Original Tribal Chief, it appears like Solo’s gang can withstand Roman’s challenge.

2. To even the odds for Solo Sikoa

After facing multiple trials to recapture his title as The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns made his return at SummerSlam 2024. His actions assisted Cody Rhodes in retaining his Undisputed WWE Championship over Solo Sikoa.

In his first SmackDown appearance in three months, Reigns once again defeated the new-look Bloodline. When one side thoroughly dominates a conflict, some fans lose interest.

The fact that Sikoa’s team dominated Roman in their most recent confrontation suggests that the enmity is equal. The Original Tribal Chief may have killed two or three individuals, but he was the only one remaining after the performance.

1. Bringing old folks back

Throughout his historic 1,316-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns was portrayed as dominating and untouchable. That was a façade, since Solo Sikoa and The Usos frequently interfered in his battles, allowing The Head of the Table to keep his championship. Reigns was still billed as the top celebrity in the industry, but even he need assistance from time to time.

Roman may have dominated the new-look Bloodline in his first two confrontations after returning, but the third time around was a different story.

Jacob Fatu was the determining factor, demonstrating that the numbers game may occasionally outweigh superstar power. Reigns may need to recruit friends to defeat the new-look Bloodline. He may call on Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, or perhaps Cody Rhodes to assist him battle the heels.
