“The Scottish Warrior” was set to take on Finn Balor on the 5/6 episode of RAW
WWE confirmed that Drew McIntyre was not medically cleared to participate in the May 6 broadcast of WWE RAW. As a result, he was removed from the King of the Rings event, following the men’s tournament.
McIntyre was set to fight Finn Balor in a first-round contest on Monday but later WWE revealed that Jey Uso will take McIntyre’s position.
Drew McIntyre not medically cleared?
When Drew McIntyre announced a few weeks ago, “I fractured my elbow at WrestleMania XL,” he wasn’t lying. As it turned out, the injuries were worse than expected. The exchange between Pearce and the WWE star indicated that McIntyre was hiding the severity of his injuries.
This was utilized in building up CM Punk’s storyline. While the Scottish Warrior claimed responsibility for injuring Punk and setting him aside for Mania, Punk is now doing the same. McIntyre departed the building after not receiving a green signal from Pearce.
McIntyre has been suffering from an elbow injury since Mania. While speaking with Pearce, he hinted that he did not want to be shelved and that he could tape it up. However, he will not wrestle until the medical staff clears him. McIntyre has been added to the list of wrestlers who have been sidelined due to injury. The roster includes Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, Seth Rollins, Punk, Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Jimmy Uso. McIntyre’s return date is yet to be confirmed. However, this may be McIntyre’s karma coming back.
After injuring Punk at the Royal Rumble, the Scottish Warriors reveled in the glory of snatching his Mania moment. However, this was returned to McIntyre when Punk did the same. McIntyre has been pursuing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since Crown Jewel 2023. He eventually pinned Seth Rollins to win, only to show off in front of Punk.
This resulted in Punk assaulting McIntyre and helping Damian Priest cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Priest won the championship, and McIntyre could just hold the gold for less than five minutes. In a way, Punk accidentally did the same thing to McIntyre. During the onslaught, the Scotsman broke his elbow.
