Will AJ Lee return at WWE Money in the Bank 2024 and cost Drew McIntyre?

AJ Lee retired from her professional wrestling career in 2015
Drew Mcintyre during last week’s SmackDown brutally assaulted CM Punk, making him unconscious and bleeding. After the brutal assault, Drew McIntyre took Punk’s bracelet with him, which is most valuable for Punk, as his wife’s and dog’s name are written on it. Punk after assaulting Punk and snatching his bracelet appeared on the June 24, 2024 Raw and cut a promo making the feud more personal with Punk.
He also made his intentions clear, targeting the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Drew claimed that he would enter the Men’s MITB match to win the MITB contract and cash in the same day to become the World Heavyweight Champion. He said CM Punk will be in his home due to McIntyre’s attack on SmackDown and he could only see him with the title.
As Punk’s appearance is a question mark, a popular WWE star could return and screw McIntyre’s title dream again on CM Punk’s behalf at Money in the Bank PLE.
AJ Lee could screw Drew McIntyre at MITB 2024
Considering what happened in the last two weeks Punk’s wife, AJ Lee could make her return and seek revenge on Drew McIntyre on behalf of CM Punk. AJ Lee could push the ladder when Drew is close to grabbing the briefcase, similar to how AJ pushed John Cena from the ladder during the 2022 TLC pay-per-view.
On the other hand, McIntyre won the Money in the Bank and tried to cash in for the World Heavyweight Championship the same day. Lee could cost Drew by attacking him after the bell rings. This could potentially cost both McIntyre’s Money in the Bank contract and the World title in the same way. This could also make Drew the sixth superstar failing to cash in their MITB contract.
Since the feud has become more personal between Punk & McIntyre, there is a mere possibility that AJ Lee could return and screw McIntyre to take the bracelet back.
AJ Lee last appeared on WWE, way back in April 2015 and announced her retirement after Punk’s controversial departure. If AJ shows up it could be her first WWE appearance in almost a decade and could be filled with thunderous pops.
All these angles are just speculations and are not spoilers for the Money in the Bank PLE. We need to wait and watch what the future holds for McIntyre & Punk’s rivalry.
