WWE has been hosting a lot of international events in recent times to expand the company worldwide. In recent times, other than the company’s BIG FIVE events most of the events are hosted in an international venue following the response and bid from the host city.

Following the success of the international events, the Stamford-based company is all set to host the 2024 Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event in Glasgow, Scotland at the OVO Hydro on June 15, 2024. This is one of the major international events of the company and to make it more memorable, the company has booked some WrestleMania-worthy matches for the show involving some Scottish Wrestlers.

As the hype is being set and the response is huge, many would wonder if this is the first WWE event in Scotland. Here is a detailed view of the WWE events in Scotland.

WWE Events in Scotland

The 2024 Clash at the Castle will be taking place this Saturday (June 15, 2024) from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. This is the first PLE of the company to take place in Scotland, however is not the first WWE event to be held on Scottish soil.

The Company will be hosting the June 14, 2024 episode of SmackDown on June 14, 2024, a day before Clash at the Castle 2024 PLE on the same OVO Hydro in Glasgow, making it the first-ever event of the Stamford-based company to be held in Scotland, United Kingdom.

WWE Events in the United Kingdom

Although this is the first time the company is touring Scotland, it is not the first event to be held in the United Kingdom. WWE has hosted a total of 27 shows in the United Kingdom and the SmackDown & Clash at the Castle marks the 28th and 29th event of the company there.

WWE hosted its first event in the UK named ‘First WWE UK Event’ in 1989 at the London Arena in London, England. Since then the company has been hosting more regularly for the events in the United Kingdom. In 1992, WWE hosted the SummerSlam PPV at the Wembley Stadium in London, England, which marked the highest attendance by a pro-wrestling promotion in the UK to date with a live crowd of 78,927.

The last time the company hosted an event in the United Kingdom was the Money in the Bank 2023 PPV at the O2 Arena in London, England. Will the Scottish crowd make a huge Impression like the French Crowd, forcing the management to host events more often in Scotland? We need to wait and watch.
