‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk has been absent from WWE programming since April. His last appearance came on Raw after WrestleMania 42, where he engaged in a segment with the then-Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, teasing a potential showdown.
On the other hand, Punk was coming off a major loss, dropping the World Heavyweight title to Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 42.
Despite the tease against Rhodes, Punk did not make a single appearance and remains absent from programming. With the July 6 WWE Raw set to emanate from Chicago, fans are now wondering if the Second City Saint will return tonight.
Will CM Punk appear on WWE Raw tonight?
Reports have hinted at CM Punk’s return tonight in Chicago; however, there is no confirmation from WWE regarding his return. Even though Punk was slated to join the SmackDown brand and feud with Cody Rhodes, reports suggested that Punk had pushed very hard for his return on the July 6 show in Chicago.
That said, his return is still not 100% confirmed, and WWE may simply be keeping plans under wraps until the right moment. Notably, Cody Rhodes is set to battle Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn in a rematch after the latter pinned him at Night of Champions to capture the title.
Many are speculating Punk’s return to cost Cody, potentially setting up the SummerSlam showdown, or return afterwards to set up the early teased title showdown at Summer’s biggest party. Whatever the plan is, fans will be delighted to see the former World Heavyweight back on WWE TV.
What’s in store for Raw tonight?
The July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw will emanate live from The Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Apart from the Undisputed title match, Sol Ruca is set to defend the Women’s Intercontinental title against Raquel Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, The Street (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) will defend the WWE World Tag Team titles against The Vision (Bron Breakker & Austin Theory).
On the other hand, ‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins is set to kick off the show while Oba Femi will address his decision to face Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell.
