CM Punk has been absent from WWE programming since October
WWE fans have been eagerly waiting for CM Punk‘s return to WWE television since his last appearance in early October. However, it now looks like the wait is over for the fans who are waiting to see The Second City Saint in action.
After the brutal Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre, Punk addressed the audience, stating he wasn’t sure when he’d be back. “I’m gonna go home. I haven’t seen my wife in about five weeks. I’ve got a lot of flowers to buy. I appreciate you all. I’d like to say, ‘I’ll see you soon,’ but I just don’t know. Thank you.” he stated.
However, as per reports from Fightful Select, the reason behind the absence wasn’t just to spend some time with his family but also due to the upcoming Saudi event. The former multi-time champion was seemingly avoiding being a storyline due to WWE‘s schedule.
Punk has been critical of the Stamford-based promotion’s continuous and has openly expressed negativity towards WWE’s working relationship with Saudi Arabia.

Reportedly CM Punk wasn’t willing to travel to Saudi Arabia
The Second City Saint’s absence from the ring ahead of the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE wasn’t a total surprise as Punk has stated his opinions on the matter very openly.
Following the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE the former multi-time champion was expected to return, but the subsequent episode on Raw was also held in the capital city Riyadh. As per reports, The Second City Saint had already told the management many months ago that he wasn’t willing to travel.
With the WWE’s events in the Middle Eastern country seemingly over until 2025, Punk is expected to return to action. As per reports from Fightful, CM Punk is set to return on this coming Monday’s edition of Raw which will be aired live from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States.
However, no creative plans have been set for The Second City Saint’s return, there is speculation that he will be involved in a feud with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.
Rollins interfered during Punk’s farewell appearance on the Red brand which might be used in the build-up. Although, a feud between the two seems a natural fit for the grandest stage of them all.
