With WrestleMania 40 just around the corner, anticipation is at an all-time high for wrestling fans. This year’s event, set to take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on April 6 and 7, is shaping up to be a classic with some nostalgic rivalries heating up the scene.

The Rock’s return to WWE have stirred up quite the buzz, especially as he teams up with The Bloodline to take on Cody Rhodes and the reigning world heavyweight champion, Seth Rollins. Headlining Night 1, this tag team match promises intense action and major implications for Night 2. Should Rhodes and Rollins emerge victorious on Night 1, Rhodes’s shot at Reigns for the main event on Night 2 will be interference-free. However, if The Bloodline secures the win, all bets are off.

Beyond the headline match, there’s plenty of excitement elsewhere on the card. Rollins puts his championship on the line against Drew McIntyre, while Rhea Ripley defends her women’s world title against Becky Lynch. Additionally, Bayley seeks to claim championship glory as she faces off against her former faction teammate, Iyo Sky, for the WWE women’s title.

With other big names like Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and the dominant intercontinental champion Gunther set to make appearances, WrestleMania promises to be a spectacle not to be missed.

WrestleMania XL Night 1 Key Matches

The Rock & Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins

One of the most anticipated matches in WrestleMania history has been confirmed, and it’s packed with intriguing storylines. On one side, we have world champion Roman Reigns teaming up with his cousin, The Rock. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes pairs up with Seth Rollins, his long-time rival from his latest WWE stint. Adding to the drama is the deep history between Reigns and Rollins, who began their main roster journey together as part of The Shield.

The outcome of the Night 1 main event holds significant implications for Night 2. If Rhodes and Rollins emerge victorious, The Bloodline will be barred from ringside during Reigns and Rhodes’s championship clash. However, should The Rock and Reigns secure the win, The Bloodline gains the freedom to intervene in Sunday’s main event at will, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown.

Rhea Ripley vs Becky Lynch [Women’s World Championship]

Over the past few months, Lynch has been grappling with confidence issues, often falling short in crucial matches. However, her fortunes took a turn when she emerged victorious in the Elimination Chamber, securing her shot at the title. Meanwhile, Ripley faced a formidable challenge from Nia Jax at the Chamber event but managed to clinch the win, triumphing in front of her home crowd.

Judgment Day (c) vs #DIY vs The New Day vs Awesome Truth vs A-Town Down vs New Catch Republic – Six Pack Tag Title Ladder Match [Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship]

The Judgement Day is gearing up for a stacked lineup at WrestleMania 40, as Raw general manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis revealed plans for a six-pack ladder match to determine the tag team champions.

Qualification for the match saw three teams from Raw and two from SmackDown earning their spots. #DIY, The New Day, and Awesome Truth secured their places by clinching victories on Raw, while A-Town Down (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) and New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate) emerged as SmackDown’s representatives after triumphing in tournaments.

Gunther vs Sami Zayn [Intercontinental Championship]

Zayn has managed to break free from his recent string of losses, but he’s now facing a monumental challenge. After surviving a grueling six-superstar gauntlet on the March 11 episode of Raw, he’s earned himself a shot at Gunther’s intercontinental title.

However, Gunther, currently deep into a record-setting reign with the title, appears to be a formidable obstacle for anyone to overcome. The two will clash in a one-on-one showdown at WrestleMania, both coming off impressive performances at last year’s marquee event.

WrestleMania XL Night 2 Key Matches

Roman Reigns (c) vs Cody Rhodes [Undisputed WWE Universal Championship]

For the second year running, WrestleMania sees Reigns facing off against Rhodes. After once again winning the Royal Rumble, Rhodes made his intentions clear: he was gunning for Reigns to “close the chapter.”

However, plans took an unexpected turn when Rhodes decided to step aside and hand the Reigns match over to The Rock. The backlash from fans against this decision was intense, prompting WWE to reconsider and revert to the original plan of Rhodes getting his shot against Reigns.

At the WrestleMania 40 kickoff, Reigns and Rock were seen celebrating their impending showdown, seemingly on good terms. However, Rhodes crashed the party, asserting that the decision was his to make, not Reigns’, and declaring his intent to go after the Tribal Chief. Later on, The Rock announced that if Rhodes were to lose to Reigns, he would never again receive a shot at the undisputed WWE universal title.

Iyo Sky (c) vs Bayley [WWE Women’s Championship]

Bayley won this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. She now encounters one of her former Damage CTRL comrades in Sky. Despite having created Damage CTRL, Bayley had been on the outs with the organization for quite some time. While Bayley hinted at facing Rhea Ripley for the women’s world title, Nia Jax intervened and scared her away, prompting Bayley to challenge Sky and defeat Damage CTRL.

Logan Paul (c) vs Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens [United States Championship]

Paul is about to face a challenging situation. After expressing his dissatisfaction with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis for failing to secure him a WrestleMania opponent, Aldis took matters into his own hands and arranged not one, but two opponents for Paul to contend with. In a triple-threat match, Paul will defend his U.S. championship against Orton and Owens.

The tension between Paul and Owens has been brewing for quite some time, and their clash in this match is sure to be intense. Additionally, Paul’s actions at the Elimination Chamber, where he interfered and cost Orton a shot at the world title, have put him squarely in Orton’s crosshairs. With both challengers having their own scores to settle with Paul, he’s definitely going to have his work cut out for him at WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins (c) vs Drew McIntyre [World Heavyweight Championship]

McIntyre has been on fire lately, chastising everyone who doubts his methods. As he strives to become a world champion once more, he has used increasingly opportunistic approaches. McIntyre took advantage of another circumstance when Logan Paul, who had previously been eliminated, knocked out Randy Orton with brass knuckles in the Elimination Chamber, allowing McIntyre to secure the pin and book a fight with Rollins at WrestleMania.
