Wrestling pundit weighs in on Vince McMahon's potential WWE return as Janel Grant civil lawsuit ends

McMahon’s legal battle will move out of public court and into private arbitration.
The civil lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon and WWE has taken a major step forward, with both parties agreeing to move the case to private arbitration instead of proceeding in federal court.
The decision comes after a Connecticut judge approved arbitration last month. Under the agreement, the lawsuit will be voluntarily dismissed from federal court within the next five business days, while the claims and defenses will continue to be resolved through the arbitration process.

After the news of the end of the long-running lawsuit, the speculations and rumors of McMahon’s return to WWE once again picked up steam, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has now expressed his opinion on the matter.
Dave Meltzer believes WWE can still bring Vince McMahon in some capacity
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer, while mentioning that it would not shock him if the company brings Vince McMahon back, stated that he doesn’t believe that McMahon will be put in charge of anything, like replacing Nick Khan or replacing Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and taking over WWE creative.
“It would not shock me that he’s brought back in a position, They may do something. I mean, it wouldn’t shock me. I don’t know that I would expect it. I cannot imagine he would be put in charge of anything.
It’s not like they’re going to have him replace Nick Khan, calling the shots. He’s certainly not going to replace Paul Levesque doing the booking. There’s no way they go to that card, that’s not going to happen.”
Meltzer also noted that even if Vince McMahon were to return, he is unlikely to be given any real decision-making authority within the company.
“But the idea of bringing him in in a figurehead position, trotting him out every now and then – like I said, it wouldn’t shock me, at all. And the funny part is, if he came out as a surprise on a TV show, it’d [get] this giant reaction.
That’s the reality of the situation. So you know, I’m not saying it will happen. I don’t know. I cannot imagine him being put in a position of any real decision-making power though. That I couldn’t see.”

Notably, while McMahon owns shares in WWE and TKO since his resignation in 2024, he has had no involvement in WWE.
