The 2025 installment of the game is almost here!

WWE delivered on January 6 at the Intuit Dome as they put on a historic show with iconic moments to kick off their journey with Netflix. The 01/06 episode of Monday Night Raw aired on Netflix marking the transition of the Red brand to streaming.

This event signified the first time since the Red brand’s debut in 1993 that it was no longer available on traditional television. Multiple appearances and four-high stakes matches were held at the Intuit Dome along with some special announcements.

Midway through the show Roman Reings and Paul Heyman appeared in a backstage segment. During the segment, Heyman asked his Tribal Chief about his next appearance, and Reigns confirmed it would be on January 27.

As they entered a locker room, the WWE 2K25 logo appeared on the door, hinting that updates about the highly anticipated game would be revealed on the January 27 episode of Monday Night Raw. The 01/27 episode of the Red brand will emanate from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

This edition will mark the 25th entry in the series and the 11th under the WWE 2K brand. The game is set for release in early 2025, following the same timeframe as recent WWE 2K releases.

According to the WWE2K website, new details about WWE’s upcoming video game will be unveiled the day after Raw, on the 27th.

“WWE 2K returns bigger, bolder, and better than ever in a breakthrough year for the franchise! WWE 2K25 is preparing to charge down the ramp with all the authenticity and action fans love from the best in sports entertainment.

Discover game-changing features, iconic Superstars, and more details on January 28th, 2025.”

Xbox unveils the first images from the upcoming game

Following the tease, X-box celebrated the historic debut of Monday Night RAW and released the first images from the new game on their social media handle. The post featured the first look of Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes along with Liv Morgan, Damian Priest, and CM Punk.

Unveiling the images Xbox wrote, “No better way to celebrate the debut of #RAWonNetflix than with a special first look at #WWE2K25”

However, what really grabbed everyone’s attention was the potential leak of the game’s cover star through their Steam profile following the reveal.

Shortly after WWE 2K25’s Steam page was updated it appeared to have accidentally revealed an early look at the cover star. The game’s page featured images of The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, alongside Paul Heyman which hints that Reigns will be on the cover of the 2025 edition. However, the images were quickly removed and replaced with the standard 2K25 logo.
