Pennsylvania man loses $42,700 in alleged WWE impersonation scam.
A 64-year-old Pennsylvania man lost $42,700 to a scammer who allegedly posed as WWE star Rhea Ripley. Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning released details of the case after the incident was reported by WPXI-TV.
The fraud reportedly took place in March, with Rhea Ripley’s identity allegedly used to obtain money from the victim.
Police have not disclosed how the scam was carried out or provided details about the communications between the victim and the impersonator.
A public information officer said the victim refused to cooperate with the investigation. As a result, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
The former Women’s World Champion had no involvement in the incident. Her name and identity were allegedly used without her knowledge by the person responsible for the fraud.

This is not the first reported case involving someone using the identity of a WWE star to scam a victim. In 2024, 79-year-old Alfred Mancinelli lost roughly $1 million in savings after falling victim to multiple online scams. One of those scams involved someone posing as WWE star Alexa Bliss.
Mancinelli reportedly believed he was in a relationship with Bliss. He ultimately used both his retirement savings and his granddaughter’s college fund during the scam.
The latest Pennsylvania case again highlights how scammers can exploit the identities of public figures to gain a victim’s trust.
In Rhea Ripley’s case, authorities have yet to reveal further details about the alleged scheme. With the victim declining to cooperate with police, the investigation has not resulted in any arrests so far.
