The ‘identity’ of El Grande Americano is still shrouded in mystery.

The mystery surrounding WWE’s El Grande Americano took a hilarious turn last week, as fans pointed out a glaring clue connecting the masked luchador to none other than Chad Gable himself. Americano was seen wearing boots with the “CG” initials during the final Money in the Bank qualifiers match.

Gable, faced with mounting evidence, addressed the rumors on X (formerly Twitter), stating that Americano just borrowed his boots because the airlines lost his.

“Really really proud of this guy. Even though I DID have to borrow him my boots (which he stretched out) last night because the airlines lost his. Big day for both of us Saturday, hombre! Good luck!”

However, despite Gable’s claims that the two are separate people, the evidence continues to pile up. A recent photo shared by a fan shows El Grande Americano’s mask merchandise with a product label that reads: ‘Chad Gable Replica Lucha Head Costume.’

From the identical build and wrestling style to the matching singlet to the boots and now the merch label, WWE has done little to hide the connection, opting instead to lean into the humor of both being the same person.

Chelsea Green expresses desire for a Total Divas reboot

In a recent appearance on the Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis, Former Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green was asked if she thinks of the potential return of the iconic reality series, Total Divas.

Green responded to the question, expressing her desire for the reality series to return and even revealing that there is interest inside WWE and Hollywood for the return of the series.

“Every day. Every minute of every hour of every day, I think about Total Divas. The demand is there and I get told that all the time, I’ve also been told by numerous different people both inside of WWE and like Hollywood that they have bee pushing it for years.“

Green also stated that the reboot needs to happen because it has been the inspiration behind “75% of the females in NXT“.

“It needs to happen, and it will happen… I think it will come back one way or another because how could it not? Truly, Total Divas is what got 75% of the females in NXT there. It attracted those women to wrestling.”

Green was quick to include herself in a potential reboot and suggested her friend and Raw star Maxxine Dupri, as well. She also shared her thoughts on why Tiffany Stratton could be an unexpected standout.

“Tiffy is a shoo in. Although I think it’s funny because she’s not like her character. She’s so much calmer and she’s very down to earth, so that actually might be boring for reality TV. I dunno, she’s so normal.”

Total Divas aired on E! from July 28, 2013, to December 10, 2019, offering fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of WWE’s female wrestlers, covering both their professional roles in the company and their personal lives.
