CM Punk has been absent from in-ring action since Bad Blood 2024
‘The Second City Saint’ CM Punk has taken a break from in-ring action since his last match at Bad Blood 2024 PLE. The Second City Saint fought Drew McIntyre in a gruesome match to settle their feud.
Punk and Drew McIntyre had a long-time rivalry since late 2023, however, they had their first match at SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. McIntyre won the match by delivering a low blow and Claymore won the match.
At Bash in Berlin, they had a rematch in a strap match, where Punk defeated McIntyre by touching four turnbuckles of the ring to secure an equalizer. At Bad Blood 2024, Punk managed to pin Drew and end the rivalry with a 2-1 lead.
After the brutal Hell in a Cell match against McIntyre, Punk addressed the audience on the next Raw episode, stating he wasn’t sure when he’d be back. “I’m gonna go home. I haven’t seen my wife in about five weeks. I’ve got a lot of flowers to buy. I appreciate you all. I’d like to say, ‘I’ll see you soon,’ but I just don’t know. Thank you.” he stated.
WWE fans have been eagerly waiting for Punk‘s return to WWE television since he took a break in October. However, it now looks like the wait is over for the fans who are waiting to see The Second City Saint in action.
CM Punk will make his return at the Madison Square Garden
‘The Mecca of sports and Entertainment’ Madison Square Garden has announced via their official X handle that CM Punk will make his return in December.
As per the tweet, The Second City Saint will be a part of an upcoming live event which will be taking place on December 26. The WWE is going to MSG for the WWE Live Holiday Tour.
The Second City Saint made his return to the Stamford-based promotion last year at Survivor Series 2023 after a nine-year hiatus. During his hiatus from the WWE, Punk tried his hand at MMA and even fought two matches in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).
The former multi-time WWE champion made his return to the pro wrestling scene in 2021 when he joined AEW. However, after a two-year run, The Second City Saint came back to the Stamfod-based promotion.
