Logan Paul has made a huge name for himself in WWE

Logan Paul may be known for jumping between sports and entertainment, but his latest attempt to step back into the boxing ring has reportedly been shut down.

According to Paul himself, WWE has blocked him from boxing NFL players, citing concerns about injury risk while he is under a full-time contract.

The controversy began after Paul publicly challenged several NFL athletes to boxing matches. Logan Paul even offered a $1 million purse to anyone willing to step into the ring with him.

The rivalry initially sparked from a back-and-forth between Paul and Tom Brady ahead of a celebrity flag football game.

The situation quickly escalated as Paul boldly claimed that “not a single football player could beat me in a boxing match.”

Soon after, he began reaching out to potential opponents. Former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell appeared ready to accept the challenge.

Paul even posted a screenshot showing him asking former Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko, “What’s best email to send contract.”

Other NFL players, including Dion Dawkins and Antonio Brown, also got involved in the conversation. Paul reportedly spent $5,000 drafting boxing contracts as he tried to finalize the bouts.

WWE steps in to block the fights

However, Paul revealed during a recent livestream that WWE executives stepped in to stop the idea. While on the phone with a company official, Paul was told he could not participate in boxing matches while signed to WWE.

The executive reportedly explained that the promotion didn’t want to risk him getting injured. Paul pushed back during the conversation.

“I’m not gonna get injured. These guys can’t box,” he said.

But the WWE representative remained firm, calling it an “unnecessary risk” and warning that something as simple as slipping or falling could cause injury.

Paul also suggested sharing a cut of his $2 million potential winnings with WWE in hopes of gaining approval. However, the response was clear.

“We’re good for money but we just prefer you not to be boxing,” the official replied.

Loyalty to WWE comes first

Ultimately, Paul acknowledged that his obligations to WWE take priority.

“At the end of the day I’m a WWE superstar and my loyalty is with the WWE, If I do not have their blessing to do some extra-curricular activities that are unrelated to the WWE like boxing… I’ve got to honour my job.” he said.

Paul later doubled down on social media. On X, he claimed WWE told him he was “too valuable of a WWE Superstar to be fighting bums.” He also mocked Bell and Fehoko in the post, writing that they had received “15 minutes of relevancy.”

For now, Paul’s focus appears to be firmly back on WWE television. The social media star turned wrestler debuted with the company in April 2022 and recently signed a new deal that elevated him to full-time WWE superstar status.
