The OTC retains!
The OTC endured a savage war against Jacob Fatu, surviving the Tongan Death Grip and a relentless assault to retain the Men’s World Championship in a chaotic Tribal Combat main event.
Roman Reigns remains the Men’s World Champion and Tribal Chief after surviving one of the most physically punishing matches of his career at WWE Clash in Italy. In a violent Tribal Combat showdown, Reigns and Jacob Fatu turned the arena into a battlefield, brawling through the crowd, smashing each other into steel structures, and using nearly every weapon available before the champion finally emerged victorious.
The highly personal contest carried enormous stakes. Not only was Reigns defending the Men’s World Championship, but his status as Tribal Chief was also on the line against the man who has repeatedly claimed he is the true future of the Bloodline.
By the end of a brutal war, Reigns had once again proven why he remains at the top of WWE.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu turn Tribal Combat into a street fight
The action exploded from the opening bell. Reigns initially gained control with a side headlock, but Fatu quickly responded with a punch and a powerful shoulder block. The champion answered with a lariat, only for the Samoan Werewolf to immediately threaten him with the devastating Tongan Death Grip.
Reigns escaped through the ropes, but there was no avoiding the fight. Fatu launched himself onto the champion, sending the battle deep into the crowd. The two traded punches on stairways, around railings, and near concession stands as fans watched the destruction unfold from only a few feet away.
At one point, Reigns blasted Fatu in the face with a bucket of ice before throwing concession items into the crowd. Fatu responded by smashing Roman into railings and chairs, while Reigns later bounced his challenger off the ring post after returning toward ringside.
The brutality intensified when steel steps became involved. Reigns hurled the top half of the steps over the ropes and directly at Fatu’s head, forcing referee Jason Ayers to briefly check on the challenger. Even then, Fatu refused to stay down and continued pressing forward.
Spears, exposed turnbuckles, and the final blow
Back inside the ring, the pace remained relentless. Reigns connected with multiple corner lariats as the Italian crowd counted along, but Fatu answered with headbutts, a crushing body avalanche, and an Ode to Umaga. A Superman Punch temporarily halted the challenger’s momentum, yet it was not enough to put him away.
Fatu repeatedly trapped Reigns in the Tongan Death Grip, leaving the champion gasping for air. Even after escaping, Reigns found himself overwhelmed by the challenger’s resilience. The OTC resorted to targeting Fatu’s hand with a toolbox and steel steps in an effort to neutralize the dangerous submission hold.
The match reached another level when Reigns speared Fatu through the ringside barricade. Back in the ring, a second spear still failed to keep the Samoan Werewolf down. Frustration began to creep in as Reigns mocked his opponent, boasting that he did not need help from The Usos and could defeat anyone on his own.
The champion then exposed multiple turnbuckles and attempted to use them to his advantage. Yet Fatu continued fighting, countering a spear attempt with a spear of his own before delivering a pop-up Samoan Drop. Moments later, Reigns narrowly survived a springboard moonsault sequence by striking Fatu low during the exchange.
With both men exhausted, the final stretch became a desperate battle for survival. Reigns repeatedly drove Fatu face-first into the exposed turnbuckles before delivering a devastating spear through the table that had been wedged in the corner earlier in the match.
The impact finally ended the challenger’s resistance. Reigns followed up with one last spear and secured the three-count, retaining both the Men’s World Championship and his position as Tribal Chief.
Result: Roman Reigns def. Jacob Fatu via pinfall to retain the WWE Men’s World Championship and the title of Tribal Chief.
