WWE confirms CM Punk’s next appearance after Drew McIntyre’s brutal attack

CM Punk didn’t appear on the 9/9 episode of WWE Raw due to the aftermath of Drew McIntyre’s attack

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are the better rivals in the red brand, who have been feuding with each other since the beginning of the year. Both had a tough run, unable to have their hands on each other.

However, they made their rivalry more personal without any official match between the two. The rivalry heated up after Punk began to screw Drew’s world championship matches and Drew took Punk’s bracelet. 

They had their first match at SummerSlam 2024, where Drew McIntyre picked up the win and took Punk’s bracelet again. Drew hinted that he was over Punk, but the second city saint confirmed that the rivalry was not over until he got his bracelet back. This resulted in a strap match at Bash in Berlin, where Punk defeated Drew to take his revenge and his bracelet back.

On the September 02, 2024, episode of WWE Raw, CM Punk announced that he is done with Drew and looks to move forward to focus on chasing the world title. After the promo, Drew McIntyre came out of nowhere and brutally assaulted Punk with three claymores and broke his bracelet into pieces. The brutal attack resulted in Punk being carried out on a stretcher for medical attention.

As a result of the assault, Punk didn’t appear on the Raw Season Premiere this week in Alberta, Calgary, Canada. As most of them wondered when Punk would be back, WWE has officially confirmed Punk’s next appearance date and venue.

CM Punk’s next WWE appearance

On the September 09, 2024 episode of Raw, Drew McIntyre addressed CM Punk’s absence saying that he will now be responsible for ending Punk’s career, and said that he won’t be returning to WWE. At this stage, the Raw General Manager interrupted Drew and said that he heard from Punk earlier and conveyed his message. Pearce said that Punk is not fone with him and called for a rematch. Drew didn’t believe him and said that he would kill him during the match.

At this stage, Pearce said that he had no other way to settle things between them and announced a Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood on October 5, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Following the announcement, WWE has officially announced that CM Punk will be making his return next week on the September 16, 2024, episode of Raw at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
