Jey Uso accidentally takes out Roman Reigns; Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky win & more!
For the second-to-last PLE of 2025, WWE took over Perth, Australia. The seventh edition of the Crown Jewel PLE emanated from the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Multiple top stars, including Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, John Cena, Rhea Ripley, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Iyo Sky, and Tiffany Stratton, competed on the show.
This marked the first time the Crown Jewel PLE was held outside of Saudi Arabia, as all six previous editions were hosted in the capital city of Riyadh. Nevertheless, the men’s and women’s Crown Jewel Championships remained the focal point of the show.
The two titles featured champions from both the Raw and SmackDown brands battling for brand supremacy. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins faced Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes for the men’s Crown Jewel title. On the women’s side, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton took on Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for the women’s title.
John Cena and AJ Styles wrote the final chapter in their iconic rivalry, clashing one last time at the event. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns battled Bronson Reed once again, this time in a brutal Australian Street Fight. Additionally, following the betrayal by the Kabuki Warriors, Iyo Sky joined forces with Rhea Ripley to face the Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane & Asuka) in a hard-hitting tag team match.
Get to know what happened this Saturday, as we have the complete summary, highlights, results, grades, and winners’ list for WWE Crown Jewel 2025.
WWE Crown Jewel 2025 Summary and Highlights
Roman Reigns vs Bronson Reed – Australian Street Fight

In the first match of the show, Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed battled for the second time, this time in an Australian Street Fight. Reigns controlled the early part of the match and even picked up the mic to ask the crowd to acknowledge him if they wanted him to bring out the tables.
Reed initially struggled but managed to take over. A rally from Reigns brought out Bron Breakker, who took out Reigns with a spear. The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) quickly arrived to assist Reigns. After much back-and-forth, Jey accidentally speared Roman through the table, which opened the door for Reed to hit the Tsunami and pin Reigns.
After the match, Reigns stated that he appreciated Jimmy and Jey, but reminded them that he had told them he would do this on his own, because the whole world believed he couldn’t accomplish anything without help. Struggling through the pain, Reigns continued, saying that he loved them, but didn’t want to see them again until Christmas.
Winner: Bronson Reed
Grade: B+
Match Insights & Moments:
- Rhea Ripley narrated the cold open to kick off the PLE.
- Michael Cole noted that Bronson Reed is only the second wrestler to defeat Roman Reigns in a singles match over the past five years, the other being Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.
- Reigns threw a rugby ball at Heyman, before battering Reed with a cricket bat, while Wade Barrett went on about Cricket and the Ashes (the test cricket series between Australia and England).
Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs Tiffany Stratton (c) – Women’s Crown Jewel title match
In the women’s Crown Jewel title clash, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer battled WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. The crowd was firmly split, supporting both women, who both jostled for control, with Vaquer showing more aggression.
In the final moments of the match, Vaquer ducked the Preetiest Moonsault Ever attempt by Stratton to deliver the Corkscrew Splash and pinned the Women’s Champion to capture the 2025 women’s Crown Jewel title.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
Grade: C+
Match Insights & Moments:
- Michael Cole joked that Wade Barrett had gotten in trouble for his reaction to the Devil’s Kiss the last time it happened.
- Backstage, Bron Breakker was seen with Bronson Reed when Paul Heyman arrived, congratulating the “Tribal Thief.” Heyman said that from now on, when people talked about the vision of the industry, they would be talking about them. He then added that if Rollins climbed to the top rope and begged for the three of them to interfere, they shouldn’t, because the world needed to see who was truly better between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. Breakker asked what would happen if Cody won. Heyman responded that they both already knew the answer to that question.
- The women’s Crown Jewel title is Vaquer’s fourth WWE title in fifteen months.
John Cena vs AJ Styles – Singles match
For one final time, John Cena and AJ Styles locked horns, and Alicia Taylor had special intros for both men as they collided. Styles edged out Cena in the early going as the crowd erupted in “TNA” chants. The match was filled with multiple close pins as both men used multiple iconic moves of fellow stars and legends.
The crowd was firmly engaged in every move, and Cena, while paying homage, also hit Sister Abigail a tribute to the late great Bray Wyatt. Cena even hit the RKO, while Styles retaliated with the Sweet Chin Music. However, it was the Tombstone Piledriver, followed by the AA, which sealed the deal for Cena, who edged out the victory in the final match.
Winner: John Cena
Grade: A++
Match Insights & Moments:
- Styles wore trunks, which served as a subtle nod to his old TNA gear. Cena handed a note to Alicia Taylor for Styles’ intro, where The Bullet Club also received a mention.
- The RAC Arena was draped in Cena’s yellow t-shirts.
- There are now only four dates left on John Cena’s retirement tour, all of them being US appearances. The Crown Jewel was the final international appearance for Cena.
- This match deserves a spot in the 2026 Hall of Fame.
- With the win, Cena has registered his 100th PLE win.
- CM Punk was in the crowd to witness the amazing match.
Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky vs The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) – Tag Team match
In the co-main event of the PLE, Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky teamed up to take on the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane). Sky came out guns blazing, but Asuka and Sane managed to isolate her for the major part of the match, until a hot tag to Ripley changed the tide.
In the final moment of the match, Sane sacrificed herself to save Asuka as she suffered the impact of the big boot by Ripley. Rhea dragged Sane back in the ring to deliver the Riptide and tagged in Iyo, who delivered the moonsault to pick up the win.
Winner: Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky
Grade: B+
Match Insights & Moments:
- The four women delivered as expected, and the referee was lenient with enforcing tags, which led to all four women being actively involved throughout the match.
Seth Rollins (c) vs Cody Rhodes (c) – Men’s Crown Jewel title match
In the main event of the show, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins took on Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who was also the defending Crown Jewel Champion, as he is the 2024 title holder. Rhodes, brimming with confidence, came out hot, while Rollins, irked by the crowd calling him a “wank*er” started throwing a tantrum and getting into an argument with the fans.
Rollins slowly worked his way back into the match, even mocking Cody’s Stardust gimmick. However, he was unable to pin Rhodes. In desperation, Rollins grabbed the Rolex that Cody had gifted him, the same one he wore during his entrance, but had left near the apron.
Even after delivering a Coast-to-Coast headbutt and a Spanish Fly, followed by the Rock Bottom, Rollins was unable to pin Cody. Rhodes had his moment and was going for the pedigree when Rollins escaped, grabbing the Rolex while knocking off the referee and hitting Rhodes with the watch. Rollins then delivered a stomp and climbed to the second rope to hit another one to pin Rhodes and win the 2025 Crown Jewel title.
Winner: Seth Rollins
Grade: A
Match Insights & Moments:
- Similar to their previous encounters, this match between the two was also a hard-hitting and evenly contested match.
- With the win, Rollins has broken the curse and registered his first win against Cody; he is now 3-1 in televised matches and 22-1 overall.
- Both the men’s and women’s Crown Jewel title holders in 2025 are from the Monday Night Raw brand.
