The wait for the second PLE of 2026 built anticipation among WWE fans as the promotion delivered the 2026 edition of Elimination Chamber on the Road to WrestleMania 42. The 16th Elimination Chamber event aired live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
The 2026 edition of Elimination Chamber marked a major return to the U.S., becoming the first edition held stateside since 2021 and the first with a live crowd in the country since 2020. It also ended a long hiatus for WWE at the United Center, which hadn’t hosted a PLE in more than three decades.
In August 1994, SummerSlam etched its place in history by becoming the first sporting event ever held at the iconic venue. WWE had also built a stacked card for the historic show, featuring two of Chicago’s own megastars.
Before his WrestleMania showdown with Roman Reigns, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk defended his title against Finn Bálor at Elimination Chamber. On the other hand, Becky Lynch battled AJ Lee with the Women’s Intercontinental title on the line.
As usual, the event featured the two men’s and women’s Chamber matches, with the winner securing the WrestleMania spot against the Undisputed and WWE Women’s Champion.
