The 43rd edition will emanate from Riyadh!
The 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made during the scheduled press conference, where WWE CCO Triple H made the official announcement. The show will be part of the ongoing Riyadh Season initiative.
“We are proud to announce that in 2027 WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.” Levesque said.
The Saudi Arabia General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, was in attendance during the press conference. Alalshikh thanked the Crown Prince and talked about how much it means to him to have a show like WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia.
This marks the first time WrestleMania will cross the Atlantic Ocean and only the third time it’s being held outside the United States, with the previous two being WrestleMania 6 in 1990 and WrestleMania 18 in 2002, both hosted in Toronto.
Fans have voiced their discontent with the WWE

The decision has already triggered major backlash online, with fans voicing their anger. As of writing this article, WWE’s official YouTube announcement video racked up over 31k dislikes, while the likes counter is at 14k.
Many fans expressed concerns about the company’s deepening relationship with the Saudi government, as well as frustration over the event being held in a location that’s difficult for U.S.-based fans to attend.
Even Fightful highlighted the backlash by sharing a screengrab from the live chat during the press conference, where fans repeatedly commented, “You sold out,” directed at Triple H.
Not only has the fan reaction been overwhelmingly negative, but many have also called on WWE to bring WrestleMania to London, a demand echoed by a large portion of the fanbase.
Fans also started blasting TKO with John Cena’s clip where he vows to “ruin wrestling” during his heel turn.
Another fan questioned how practical it was to expect American audiences to travel overseas, while others sarcastically wondered whether Saudi Arabia would allow women wrestlers to wear their usual ring gear this time. WWE has yet to address the mounting backlash publicly.
When and where will WrestleMania 43 take place?
The 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE has not yet revealed the date for the show.
Why are fans unhappy with the announcement?
Fans are mostly angry due to WWE overlooking fan-favorite venues like London and instead going to Saudi Arabia for the money. Fans criticize the Saudi government for sport-washing the plethora of violations committed by the regime.
