JBL has some picks for John Cena as his final opponent

As the wrestling world begins speculating about John Cena’s final WWE match, one Hall of Famer is already weighing in with some big ideas.

On the latest episode of Something To Wrestle With, JBL shared his thoughts on who he believes should step into the ring for Cena’s last dance. From iconic legends to rising stars, the former WWE Champion laid out four compelling options that could give Cena and fans the send-off he deserves.

JBL backs blockbuster names for John Cena’s farewell

When asked about his ideal opponent for John Cena’s final bout, JBL didn’t hesitate to name some of WWE’s biggest draws. “I think one of three people… I think Brock would be awesome. I also think Roman would be awesome. I think both of those would be incredible matches,” he said.

But the standout pick for JBL is none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“The Rock would be great. Because The Rock kind of helped him turn heel… plus The Rock’s the biggest movie star in the freaking world,” JBL noted.

A final match between Cena and Rock would not only echo their past rivalries but also elevate SummerSlam or WrestleMania to historic heights.

Cena should give back on his way out, says JBL

While fantasy booking marquee names is fun, JBL believes Cena is too respectful of the business to end his career with a win.

“Old guys that have respect for the business… they always go out putting somebody over,” he said. “Cena is like that.”

JBL cited a personal favorite moment when Cena faced Umaga in San Antonio, calling it one of the greatest matches he ever saw from the ringside. That performance, JBL believes, is the kind of unforgettable energy Cena could recreate one last time, with the right opponent.

Jacob Fatu could shock fans in Cena’s final match

If WWE chooses to elevate a rising star rather than stage another legend vs. legend clash, JBL believes Jacob Fatu might be the dark horse.

“I don’t think people would expect it. And I think the match would be freaking amazing,” JBL explained, noting that Fatu brings a wild card energy that could deliver an emotional and unexpected classic.

JBL also mentioned Jey Uso as another possibility. But ultimately, he trusts Cena to make the right call: “If you pull John aside and say, ‘Create a legacy bout,’ he would know.” Whoever the opponent is, JBL’s picks make one thing clear: Cena’s final match could be one for the ages.
