Chris Jericho could soon return to WWE!

Chris Jericho’s name is once again swirling in WWE circles after the company sparked speculation about a possible return.

The former WWE world champion is currently under contract with AEW, but WWE fanned the flames of rumor when it shared two classic Jericho matches on its official WWE Vault YouTube channel on August 22.

The uploads featured Jericho’s battles with John Cena in 2005 and Roman Reigns in 2016. Both videos were marked as anniversary throwbacks, but their timing led fans to wonder if they were subtle teasers of something more.

With Jericho’s AEW contract winding down in the near future, speculation about a WWE homecoming is gaining traction online.

Throwback or Foreshadowing?

The fights shared on YouTube commemorate two major moments in Jericho’s WWE career. His showdown with Cena took place exactly 20 years ago on August 22, 2005, while his clash with Roman Reigns came nine years ago on the same date in 2016.

Although the videos could easily be explained as simple anniversary tributes, WWE’s timing has raised eyebrows. Fans are questioning whether this is just nostalgia or a deliberate tease of Jericho’s return to the company where he first rose to global stardom in 1999.

Chris Jericho’s WWE and AEW journey

Jericho made his WWE debut in 1999, interrupting The Rock in one of the most iconic entrances in wrestling history. Over the years, he became one of the company’s most decorated stars, winning multiple world championships and reinventing himself in different eras.

After departing in 2005, he returned in 2007 with a new persona and wrestled for another decade. His final WWE appearance came at the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. Later that year, he signed with AEW, becoming their first marquee name and inaugural World Champion when the promotion officially launched in January 2019.

Despite his commitments to AEW, Jericho’s legacy in WWE remains unmatched, and many fans are hopeful that one last run could be on the horizon. Whether WWE’s anniversary uploads were merely a coincidence or a calculated nod toward Jericho’s future is something only time will reveal.

Is Chris Jericho still with AEW?

Yes, Jericho is currently under contract with AEW, where he was the company’s inaugural World Champion.

When was Jericho’s last WWE match?

His last WWE appearance came at the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018.

Could Jericho return to WWE soon?

While WWE teased fans with anniversary videos, neither Jericho nor WWE has confirmed any plans for a comeback.
