Charlotte Flair is a 14-time World Champion in WWE!

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi does not include ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair as one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time.

During the recent episode of his “Rikishi Fatu Off The Top” podcast, the Hall of Famer stated that while Flair is considered a top talent, many women from previous eras were better in-ring performers but were never pushed to the same superstar level.

The topic came up when Rikishi was fantasy booking a possible match between his daughter-in-law, 2025 Miss Money in the Bank Naomi, and Flair. After being asked by his co-host if he would consider Charlotte one of the all-time greats.

“No, I wouldn’t. Okay. No, I wouldn’t, There’s so many other wrestlers before her, before her time. You know, had they been young to be able to go… they can keep up with her. It wasn’t built like her, as far as pushing her as far as in superstar status. But there was these… there’s a few of them.” Rikishi answered.

He then went on to name multiple women from his era who, according to him, were exceptional in-ring performers than the 14-time WWE World Champion.

“There’s Miss Jackie, Miss Texas. Yeah, Miss Texas. Can you imagine Miss Texas [Jacqueline Moore] was young and in this era right now? The way that she worked,” he said. “Ivory back in the day, right? She again, you know, these names that I’m throwing out there were kind of, like, never really pushed, pushed, but they were so good of workers that they were able to make other superstars.”

Charlotte Flair was banned from referencing Ric Flair

During an appearance on the Games with Names podcast, Charlotte Flair was asked about finally using her iconic family name after being billed as simply “Charlotte” during her time in the developmental brand NXT as well as her initial run on the main roster.

Flair responded to the question, revealing that she wasn’t allowed to use the ‘Flair’ name until after her clash with Asuka at WrestleMania 34.

“I wasn’t allowed to use the name ‘Flair’ or use my last name until after the match with Asuka at WrestleMania 34. I showed up at TV the next night and my boss at the time was like, ‘You can use the last name Flair now.’ I was like, ‘Oh, sweet’ (laughs).”

She jokingly added, “I guess I had to earn it,” in reference to reclaiming her famous last name. The 14-time Women’s Champion went on to explain that, in addition to not being allowed to use the Flair name, she was also prohibited from performing her father’s signature chops during matches or his iconic “Woooo!” taunt on television.

During her appearance, Flair also commented on her relationship with fellow superstar Becky Lynch. The two stars have a very complicated history together and have also shared the first WrestleMania headlined by women, along with Ronda Rousey.

“We’re cordial. (laughs) No, we’re good. I still think there is some story left there. So…I don’t think there’s a nail in the coffin yet.”
