WWE makes MAJOR announcement for Bash in Berlin 2024 weekend

Bash in Berlin 2024 is the first WWE PLE to be held in Germany
WWE has been hosting several important premium live events and other live events in several international venues in recent times. One such event is the upcoming and inaugural Bash in Berlin PLE.
The Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event is all set to be held on August 31, 2024, from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. This is WWE’s first ever pay-per-view to be held in Germany and it is expected to be the opening for upcoming events in the country.
WWE will also be hosting Friday Night SmackDown a day before (August 30, 2024) the PLE at the same venue. The latest report reveals that the company has confirmed two big matches for the Bash in Berlin weekend, which has started to be advertised in Germany.
Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser to be in action in Germany
According to German news outlet BILD, two major matches have been announced as the dark matches for WWE SmackDown on August 30, 2024. The news report suggests that Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser of Imperium will be in action against Sami Zayn & Ilja Drgunov in a tag team match. The other match will be Sheamus vs Santos Escobar.
BILD reported,
“There are also two revelations for the ‘SmackDown’ on August 30th in the Uber Arena in Berlin! Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser will face Sami Zayn and Ilja Dragunov, and Sheamus will step into the ring against Santos Escobar.”
It is expected to mark Ludwig Kaiser’s in-ring return in his home country Germany, after weeks of hiatus due to undisclosed injury. The dark matches are exclusive only to the live audience at the Uber Arena on August 30th, and won’t be officially telecasted by WWE. However, we can watch the other televised matches all around the world from the venue with a tape delay or live.
Before the inaugural Bash in Berlin PLE, Gunther will be facing Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2024. On the other hand, Sami Zayn is expected to defend his title against Bron Brekker & Ilja Dragunov at SummerSlam 2024.
