After a lengthy hiatus following SummerSlam in early August, WWE’s premium live event schedule resumed with Money in the Bank 2026.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, September 6, the event featured superstars from both Raw and SmackDown. It also marked the first time the Money in the Bank PLE was held in October, as well as the first edition to take place after SummerSlam.
As expected, the event centered around the men’s and women’s MITB ladder matches, where competitors battled to retrieve a briefcase containing a contract that guaranteed the winner a championship opportunity of their choosing at any point within the following 12 months.
Roman Reigns defended the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight, while Stephanie Vaquer put the Women’s World Championship on the line against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan in a triple threat match.
The card also featured a high-profile singles showdown between Oba Femi and Bronson Reed. In the men’s ladder match, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk, and Kevin Owens competed for the coveted briefcase.
Meanwhile, Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton battled in the women’s ladder match, hoping to secure the contract and a future championship opportunity.
