Roman Reigns, in his fifth title defense, battled LA Knight.
‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns defended the World Heavyweight Title against Penta on Raw in Mexico City last month. The post-match development confirmed his fifth title defense after LA Knight attacked him with a BFT, setting the stage for their clash at Money in the Bank 2026.
The showdown marked their second head-to-head clash as Knight looked to topple the Champion and capture the World title for the first time at WWE MITB, which is emanating from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

The challenger, LA Knight, walked out first at the packed Smoothie King Center to thunderous chants, followed by the reigning champion, Reigns, who arrived to fans pointing ones to the sky, acknowledging the OTC.
Referee Eddie Orengo signaled for the bell as the match kicked off a five-match card for MITB. Both stars continued mouthing off at each other as they locked horns. Knight sent Roman regrouping early ringside as he made his way back into the ring to try and regain control of the match.
Reigns locked in the Superman Punch, looking to end the night early, but Knight fought back, sending Roman to the outside. Knight continued punishing Reigns ringside, ripping off the announce desk as Reigns retaliated, whipping Knight into the ring post, before taking the action back into the ring.
The first pin attempt came by Knight, while Reigns responded with a Superman punch, followed by a pin attempt of his own. Knight rallied once again after countering a spear, delivering the Burning Hammer, but Roman managed to kick out in time.
Reigns took the action ringside once again as he looked to plant Knight onto the announce desk as the challenger gained his footing, sending Reigns crashing into the steel steps. Both men continued to brawl ringside and made it in time to break the count.
Reigns went for the Spear, but Knight, out of nowhere, landed the BFT into the cover as Roman kicked out just before the third pin. Knight went for the finish when Roman retaliated with a Spear for another close kick-out.
Another close kick-out came when Knight took down Reigns with a spear of his own. The action spilled ringside again with Reigns looking for a spear as Knight moved out of harm’s way, causing Reigns to crash through the barricade.
Knight then blasted him through the announce desk before sending him into the ring for an elbow drop from the top rope, into the cover, but Roman kicked out again.
Reigns then fought back with a trifecta of attacks, led by two Superman punches followed by the Spear to pin Knight and retain the title in his fifth title defense.
Winner & Still: Roman Reigns
Post-match, 946 (Royce Keys, Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) arrived to stare down Reigns from the crowd stands as the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso), accompanied by Solo Sikoa, arrived behind, leading to a massive brawl backstage.
The brawl continued throughout the arena, and the action spilled outside the building as Jaida Parker arrived, calling 946 to get in the vehicle. 946 jumped on board, escaping the scene.
